My year as an Artist in Residence at Arts Warehouse is coming to a close this month and I’m so deeply grateful for the growth, community, and creative expansion this season brought into my life. Thank you for every visit, message, share, and piece you’ve welcomed into your home.

Now… a new adventure awaits: my family and I are relocating to Sintra, Portugal! 🇵🇹

In preparation for the move, I am having a special Studio Sale on my website today March 3rd until Tuesday March 10th at midnight at JessBurbridge.com. This sale helps lighten the load for our move and allows these works to find their new homes before the next chapter begins.

I would love for you to be part of this transition and follow along as my work evolves in Portugal.

This big guy is totally dry and ready to be bisque fired! I kept him wrapped under plastic for a bit too long and there’s quite an interesting pattern of mold growth on the porcelain but it will burn off in the kiln. Unfortunately our studio kiln is out of commission while we wait for a new thermocouple and new elements and there’s no way I can drive him in this fragile state back to my house to fire so he’s just going to hang out in my studio until our kiln is back up and running. I looked back through my photos and was shocked to see that I started work on this big male Earth Dragon last July! Different projects and commissions kept me distracted from finishing him in a timely manner, but I’m still really happy with how he turned out. I especially love his gorgeous horns, the bird’s nest “crown” on his head (where a trio of eggs are hidden) and the various types of mushrooms growing up his neck.

Happy New Year, friends! I hope 2026 is off to a good start for you. I am really excited for the adventures, learning opportunities and growth that this coming year holds. I can’t believe I am kicking off 2026 with my first magazine cover, but here we are! Thank you Delray Magazine for featuring my ceramic art and sharing my work with the South Florida community. Here’s to making 2026 a year for the books! 🥂🌟

Hi friends! We found out this week that our building is going to need some pretty major repairs early next year and all of the Resident Artists will have to pack up their studios and move out to allow for the repairs to be made. With this news, I want to share that if anyone has been planning to commission a piece, this is the last week that I will be able to take on new work for a while, so please DM me now! I hope everyone is having a fun and festive holiday season. Love, Jess

All six of the new porcelain coral works are sold and headed to their new home tomorrow! I’m going to miss these pieces, particularly the massive Purple Aster anemone. She’s a real showstopper! I’m starting work on a new XL anemone and planning to glaze this one in my favorite stunning Lagoon blue. Probably will finish with a Mother of Pearl luster because I just can’t seem to help myself 😁✨ DM if you would like to commission one for your home!

Wrapping up the sculpting of my male Earth dragon this week! I went on a little side quest too as I felt the pull to create a more simple, organic form and started creating these catch-all dishes with antler feet. I love the (relative) immediacy of creating smaller works (I can have them dry and ready for firing within the week!) and it really balances out the scale for me from spending months and months on a single sculpture. Anyways, I’ll share pics of the antler dishes in my stories... stay tuned!

Thank you to everyone who came out for our Resident Artists exhibit at Arts Warehouse last night! It was such a treat to have my family and friends all gathered together for the dragons! I loved being with my fellow Resident Artists to celebrate the exhibit too. Yesterday just so happened to be the six month anniversary from when I moved into my new studio at 💛 I’m so grateful for the new friends I’ve made here and to have become apart of this wonderful artist community. If you missed the opening, the show will be up until October 25th so swing by and check it out!.
