As they have been doing in past years, Walt Disney World has raised the ticket prices to enter their theme parks. They haven’t broken $100 for a day at one park, but they’re very close. The price to visit one day at Magic Kingdom went from $95 to $99. But there are significant savings by booking more than one day at a time.
The one-day ticket price for Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios or Epcot went from $90 to $94. But the more days you buy, the cheaper your savings, although all multi-day ticket prices went up. For example, if you book a 2-Day ticket, you can use the days for any park and the cost is $94 per day (Up from $92). But if you buy a 10-Day ticket, each day will only cost you $35.40 (Up from $33.90). Ticket prices for kids younger than 10, while lower than adult tickets, were also raised.
If you’d like the ability to visit more than one Disney park per day, the Park Hopper Option is an extra $35 (up from $34). Adding the ability to visit Disney’s water parks also went up from $54 to $55. Tickets to visit Disney’s water parks remained the same, at $56.45.
All of the annual pass prices also went up. A Seasonal Pass, which includes blackout dates, went up by $10, from $309 to $319. The regular Annual Pass, which doesn’t have blackout dates, went up $21, from $464 to $485. And Disney’s Premium Annual Pass, which also includes unlimited access to Disney’s water parks, DisneyQuest and more, also went up $21, from $584 to $605. Disney offers some discounts to Florida Residents, Disney Vacation Club Members and Military Personnel. They also offer various discounts at different times of the year to everyone.
In response to the ticket price changes, Disney released this statement, “Our pricing reflects the high quality and breadth of experiences we offer and our ongoing commitment to investing in our parks. We offer a variety of ticket options that provide a great value, and find that most guests select multi-day tickets that offer additional savings.”
There’s no word yet on the other Orlando theme parks raising their prices, but it is expected. In the past, around the same time Disney has adjusted their prices, Universal Orlando and SeaWorld parks have also adjusted theirs.

Universal CityWalk’s newest restaurant, Antojitos Authentic Mexican Food, officially opens tonight – becoming the second eatery to debut as part of this year’s historic expansion to Universal’s entertainment complex. Featuring colorful décor, fresh, authentic cuisine, more than 200 different tequilas, and authentic Mexican folk art, Antojitos takes diners on a journey through the cantinas, street carts and markets of Mexico City for craveable Mexican fare that is unlike any other.
Antojitos Authentic Mexican Food is located in the heart of Universal CityWalk, right next to the groove nightclub. Visitors to the vibrant, two-story restaurant can enjoy two unique dining experiences, both featuring a delicious menu that combines authentic, traditional Mexican fare with all-new flavors – all made from scratch using the freshest ingredients.

Guests can choose to dine downstairs and enjoy a more casual dining experience that includes items like carnitas al pastor tacos (made with beer and chile braised pork, grilled pineapple and guajillo salsa) and oaxaca enchiladas (chicken tinga and house made mole sauce, queso fresco and lime crema). Upstairs, guests can enjoy a more refined dining experience that includes menu options like carne asada brava (coffee crusted ribeye with fire roasted vegetables) and menonita shrimp (bacon wrapped shrimp stuffed with menonita cheese, manchego corn pudding and a poblano chorizo sauce). Diners can also watch as their fresh guacamole is prepared tableside, enjoy nightly entertainment in the restaurant, and sample a variety of specialty beverages – including authentic Mexican soda, beers, regional wines and an extensive selection of tequila and mezcal.

Antojitos Authentic Mexican Food is now open nightly from 5 p.m. to midnight. Antojitos is the next venue to debut as part of Universal CityWalk’s historic expansion, which will include the addition of eight new venues to the complex’s already popular collection of national brands. Other venues to join Antojitos this year include Hot Dog Hall of Fame, VIVO Italian Kitchen, Cold Stone Creamery, Menchie’s, and The CowFish.

Walt Disney World, which has been slowly rolling out elements in its billion-dollar MyMagic+ technology project in recent months, is about to launch one of its broadest tests yet.

Beginning Wednesday, Disney will have all visitors to Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park — including day-trippers and guests staying at off-property hotels — use its new "FastPass+" ride-reservation system, which will allow them to book times for up to three attractions.

At the same time, Disney will for the first time turn off its existing FastPass system in Animal Kingdom, the paper-ticket-based reservation system that Disney World visitors have been using for more than a decade. Under the paper system, guests can generally get only FastPasses for one ride at a time, though they can also ultimately obtain more than three per day.

There will be several restrictions. Offsite visitors will only be permitted to make their ride reservations once they arrive at the theme park at various in-park kiosks, unlike travelers staying in Disney-owned hotels who can book ride times weeks in advance through a Disney website. And offsite visitors will not be issued "MagicBands," the rubber bracelets equipped with microchips that are another key component of MyMagic+.

Disney says it intends to eventually allow offsite guests to book ride times before their visits, though it is unclear when that will begin. Company executives once hoped to have MyMagic+ fully launched by this fall, but it is now aiming for some time in 2014.

The Pirates of the Caribbean attraction at Disney’s Magic Kingdom marked its 40th anniversary Sunday.

The attraction debuted at Magic Kingdom Park on Dec. 15, 1973, serving as one of the park’s first major additions after its 1971 opening.

The first Pirates of the Caribbean opened at Disneyland park in 1967.

The ride has only had a few changes since it opened. In 2006, Captain Jack Sparrow and Captain Barbossa from the “Pirates of the Caribbean” film franchise were added. Villains Davy Jones and Black Beard were also added later on in the form of ghostly apparitions.

The Pirates of the Caribbean was one of the last attractions Walt Disney personally oversaw the creation of.
