Founded in 1963, the Creative Arts Guild is Georgia’s oldest multidisciplinary community arts organization, proudly rooted in Dalton, GA. Founded in 1963, the Creative Arts Guild is the oldest multi-disciplinary community arts center in the state of Georgia. Our mission is to cultivate and sustain the arts in Dalton, Georgia and its surrounding counties. We do this by:
-Providing education in visu

al and performing arts
-Showcasing local art and culture through enriching events, exhibits, and performances
-Providing support for established artists and nurturing emerging artists
-Supporting public art and maintaining the permanent collection of the Robert T.

We need hands and hearts who love the arts to help us present ARTS FEST weekend to the community Sept. 18-20! Volunteer signups are open, and there's a little something for everyone. Here are some of the positions we need the most:
➑️ Artist Market Check-In on Friday
➑️ Manning the KIDS FEST activity tents Saturday-Sunday
➑️ Tear-Down and Cleanup after ARTS FEST closes Sunday

What is the story your family tells over and over again: what is the version that never gets shared? In this empowering literary workshop, participants will explore personal and inherited narratives through guided writing prompts, reflection, and storytelling exercises. Together, we’ll examine memory, identity, perspective, and the power of reclaiming our own voice. Whether writing memoir, fiction, poetry, or personal essays, participants will be encouraged to uncover untold stories and transform them into meaningful, authentic work in a supportive and creative environment.

πŸ“– We have an exciting opportunity to support a local author! Join us this Thursday from 5-7pm for a reception celebrating the release of "The River Road," a debut work of fiction by Chris Clement! This exciting suspense/thriller involves a tragic murder, an unlikely witness, and the ripple effects it causes in a small, rural southern town in the 1940s.

Chris will give a short reading from the novel, followed by a Q&A session where we'll learn more about the book and his process. Copies of "The River Road" will be for sale, and Chris will take some time to sign them as well! Light refreshments and a cash bar will be available - FREE ADMISSION.

There's lots to explore, including a kids production of Treasure Island at 11th Hour Theatre and hard rock / metal all-ages shows at Lofi Coffee Bar!
