ASHEN THRONE — TRICKSTER SPOTLIGHT DROP

After a short forge-break for the holiday, the Ley has begun to stir again…
and something sly has awakened beneath it.
Today, we’re pulling back the veil on the next faction entering the First Age:
THE TRICKSTERS — Keepers of Chaos and the Unwritten Odds
A faction built on deception, manipulation, and bending fate until it screams.
They don’t overpower enemies — they outplay them.
THE TRICKSTER ENGINE (Finalized)
Gamble — Flip a coin.
Fortune: Add 1 essence of any type to your Ley Basin and draw 1 card.
Consequence: Deal 2 damage to your Command Station.
Tricksters chase advantage by risking their own throne.
Bad bets scar. Good bets accelerate everything.
Deceive (X)
Look at the top X cards of an opponent’s deck.
You may reorder them, bottom one, and discard one.
Their specialty? Taking tomorrow’s plans and rewriting them today.
Illusion (X)
Create X 1A / 1D Illusion tokens with:
“When this token is destroyed, draw 1 card.”
Illusions are fragile, but every shattered lie becomes knowledge — and knowledge becomes victory.
Allure (X)
Choose an enemy Unit with Defense ≤ X.
That unit must attack this unit next turn if able.
Tricksters weaponize desire, forcing giants to chase shadows while real threats slip by.
Swindle (X)
Draw X cards, then discard X cards at random.
Some Trickster cards gain bonuses based on what was discarded.
The heart of Tricksters: chaotic refinement.
They lose deliberately to win explosively.
FACTION IDENTITY
Role: Deception, misdirection, tempo disruption.
Playstyle: High-risk, high-reward — the casino of war.
Win Condition: Manipulate fate, drain enemy consistency, and turn every failure into a setup for victory.
