A special August meeting of Visual Arts Guild of Frisco as we leaned in and learned from one of our great art partners Renuka Rajagopalan, a collaborative artist, choreographer, curator, and the founder of Garage Arts Project, a Texas-based nonprofit dedicated to fostering meaningful artistic exchange through interdisciplinary collaboration. Garage Arts Project.

Her topic. "Beyond the Individual Artist: Building Art Through Collaboration -
What happens when the artwork isn’t the final product, but the relationships, conversations, and shared inquiry that lead to it?" Renuka taught us that going beyond your own creative practice and actively collaborating with other artists, arts forms, and art organizations helps build bridges across cultures and communities, and creates resources beyond the scope or reach of the individual artist.

Also in our August gathering, we celebrated all our artist's works on display and voted Artist of the Month: Roshni Rao for her artwork titled "Lilly Pot" Medium: Ceramic - Social / Links: https://www.instagram.com/roshu_rao/
