Texas Music Project had the privilege of meeting with the amazing music therapy team at Children's Health as we delivered a collection of ukuleles that represent much more than instruments. They represent generosity, collaboration, and the belief that music has the power to heal.

These ukuleles began with our wonderful partners at Can'd Aid, whose mission is to bring music and wellness resources to communities across the country. Community volunteers carefully assembled every instrument by hand, and the students of Greenhill School's generously donated their time to tune each one, making sure they were ready for the young musicians at Children's Health.

For many children, a ukulele is the perfect first instrument. It's small enough for little hands, easy to learn, and often becomes the beginning of a lifelong love of music. In a hospital setting, it can also provide comfort, creativity, confidence, and moments of joy when they are needed most.

The journey doesn't stop here.

This September, we'll continue our partnership with Can'd Aid at the DDAMF Dallas Arts & Music Festival, where we'll host FREE ukulele lessons, painting activities, and send children home with their own instrument and beginner lesson guide to continue their musical journey.

This is what Texas Music Project is all about. Music connects us. Music brings hope. Music brings healing. And together, we can create opportunities that change lives one song at a time.

Thank you to Can'd Aid, Greenhill School's Music for a Cause, the incredible music therapists at Children's Health, and every volunteer whose hands helped make this possible.

DDAMF 2026 to be held on September 12 and 13… Stay connected!

On behalf of the entire team at DDAMF, it's with great regret that we inform you that DDAMF must reschedule our May 23&24th due to rain.

Our NEW dates for DDAMF 2026 are:
Saturday September 12 | Noon - 10:00 PM
Sunday September 13 | Noon - 6:00 PM

We understand this is our 2nd reschedule, and we sincerely apologize for this inconvenience, but Spring rain has been a major issue for us. We are doing our best to navigate through this weather and provide the ultimate DDAMF experience for all of our artists, musicians, vendors, sponsors, and food-trucks.

Main Street Garden in a beautiful grassy field that can quickly turn muddy with any rain and we want to honor and protect the park.

To everyone who has supported DDAMF so far: thank you. Your energy, creativity, and belief in this event truly mean everything to us.

We’re already looking ahead to September 12-13 and can’t wait to bring Downtown Dallas together for a full day of live music, art, food, culture, and community.
