Today, our Purple Skye family celebrates a moment we have prayed for and waited five long years to see.

Many of you noticed we stepped away from posting while our family walked through the trial surrounding the loss of our sweet Mi’Lania Skye. We asked for your prayers, and you answered in a way we will never forget.

Today, we can finally say that justice has been served for Mi’Lania.

Nothing will ever bring our little girl back. Nothing will ever erase the empty seat at our table, the birthdays she should be celebrating, or the life she should still be living. But today, her voice was heard. Her life was recognized. Her story mattered.

This trial was one of the hardest things our family has ever endured, but through it we found something we hadn’t felt in a long time, hope that we can finally begin to heal.

The Purple Skye Festival was never created out of anger.

It was created out of love.💜❤️‍🩹

It was created because we wanted Mi’Lania’s life to continue making a difference in this world. Every movie night, every smile, every child laughing under the stars, every family making memories together is a reminder that love can continue even after unimaginable loss.

To everyone who prayed for us, sent encouraging messages, attended our events, donated, volunteered, or simply stood beside our family over these past five years—thank you. Your support has carried us through some of the darkest days of our lives.

As we move forward, our mission remains the same.

To bring families together.

To create joyful memories.

To remind people to cherish the time they have with the ones they love.

And to make sure the world never forgets a little girl named Mi’Lania Skye.

To our beautiful Purple Skye Festival community, 💜

You may have noticed things have been a little quieter than usual. We’ve paused our regular posts, updates, and Cinema Nights for a short time, and we wanted to share why.

As many of you know, everything we do through Purple Skye Festival, every movie night, every smile, and every community gathering, was inspired by our daughter, Mi’lania Skye. Her life is the reason this festival exists, and every event is our way of turning love and loss into hope for others.

This week, our family begins the criminal trial related to the crash that took Mi’lania from us. It’s a chapter we’ve waited a long time to face, and one that requires our full attention and strength.

When we started this journey, our mission was to transform grief into hope, unity, and moments that bring our community together. That mission hasn’t changed. We’re simply taking a brief step back so we can be fully present through this process.

We aren’t sharing this to ask for sympathy, but to ask for something far more meaningful, your prayers. If you would keep our family in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days, we would be deeply grateful.

Thank you for continuing to stand with us, to believe in this mission, and to help us honor Mi’lania’s legacy. We love this community more than words can express, and we look forward to returning soon to create more unforgettable memories together.
