Hillside Step Team

Hillside Step Team The Hillside Steppers was founded August 2022 by the current director/head coach William R. Holmes.

The orgaization is an organization of young males (Boyz N The Hill) and females (Hillside Divaz) in the Cedar Hill, TX area, in grades 6th - 12th. These young men and women are being taught to perform ceremonial-style steps that are rooted in African-American tribal celebrations, and fashioned after traditional African-American Greek-letter societies. Not only are the students involved in competitive stepping, but they are also being molded into leaders by organizing and participating in community service projects. The Hillside Steppers provides positive youth development, educational programs, mentoring, and stepping. This program keeps our student focused and allows them to experience and see places that they normally would not have the opportunity to experience. It also awards them a sense of pride, self-worth, and dignity.
