Footprints of David Arts in Collaboration with EkoGond
Presents
Children Creative Station Bariga 3.0.
A two weeks space of discovery, discipline, and cultural grounding. For two immersive weeks, young dancers are invited into a transformative environment where tradition meets contemporary expression, and where movement becomes both language and identity.
With a strong focus on Igbo dance in relation to street dance, this edition creates a powerful bridge between heritage and modern urban expression. Participants will explore how indigenous forms influence today’s movement culture, learning not just steps, but meaning, context, and creative ownership.
Guided by experienced teachers and culture bearers, the children will engage in intensive daily sessions designed to build technique, confidence, collaboration, and artistic awareness. From rhythm training to performance development, from storytelling to stage presence, every moment is intentionally crafted to nurture the total dancer.
Set in the heart of Bariga at Seaside Cottage Theatre, this initiative continues to deepen community engagement, using dance as a tool for empowerment, education, and cultural preservation. It is a gathering of energy, curiosity, and potential, where every child is seen, heard, and encouraged to move fully into themselves.
This is not just about learning how to dance. It is about understanding where the dance comes from, what it carries, and how it evolves through new generations.
Open to children and young dancers between 8yrs - 21 yrs.
Participation is free, but commitment is required. Registration is open.
