Rockport Cultural Arts District - RCAD Iconic Texas Coastal town celebrated as a top US Art Colony. Home to Second Saturdays & Art Walk. One of Texas’ 57 Cultural Districts. 🎨🏝️

Unique shops, museums, dining, bars, theatre, markets, and outdoor fun like festivals, fishing, boating & beaches. We are one of the 52 Cultural Districts in Texas, designated by the Texas Commission on the Arts in 2016. We celebrate the unique cultural heritage of Downtown Rockport with programs, events and activities for locals and visitors. We promote economic development and artistic, cinemati

c, culinary, literary and performing artists, collaborating with businesses, other non-profits and governmental entities. One of our signature projects is renovating the Rockport Railroad Depot and transforming it into a museum. Another of our major initiatives is championing and fund-raising for Steve Russell’s public art sculpture series, “Cultural Interface,” celebrating our multi-cultural heritage and contributions made by Native Americans, Hispanics and other ethnicities. We are also sponsoring a Rockport-Fulton Art Colony Symposium in 2022 for the release of the Texas A&M Press book, “The Story of the Rockport-Fulton Art Colony: How A Coastal Texas Town Became An Art Enclave.” Enjoy our four public art murals, colorful spaces for capturing memories. Visit our Blue Wave Certified Beach, harbor and fishing piers, the Bay Education Center, Rockport Center for the Arts, the Rockport Little Theatre, the Texas Maritime Museum, historical markers, restored historic homes, boutiques, galleries and restaurants. We've been one of the top 10 coastal art colonies since 1948, full of colorful characters and creativity.
