REMEMBER — KIOKU (記憶)

We often remember the moments that changed our lives
a wedding, a new beginning, a move to a different place,or a moment that left a lasting mark on who we became.

But memory is not made only of monumental moments.

Sometimes, it lives quietly in the smallest things:
the warmth of sunlight through a window,
the color of the sky on an ordinary afternoon,
a familiar place, a sound, a scent,or a brief moment that we never realized would become precious.

Memory is not always a complete picture.
It can be fragmented, softened, faded, or transformed by time.Yet even when the details disappear, the feeling can remain.

Through this time exhibition of work, I invite you to look at memory differently not as something that simply happened in the past, but as something that continues to exist within us.

Using color, texture, layers, and fragments of imagery,
I explore what memory might look like if we could see it.

What does your memory look like?
And what small moment, perhaps forgotten by the world, still lives quietly within you?

REMEMBER — KIOKU (記憶)
An exploration of the fragments, feelings, and quiet moments that become memory.

Art is not just an object or decoration for a wall.

This artwork shows how powerful an idea can be when the material itself carries the message.

At first, these look like colorful, delicate popsicles. But they are made from dirty city water. Something that we normally wouldn’t want to touch or even think about has been transformed into something beautiful enough to make us stop and look.

That contrast is what makes the artwork powerful. It asks us to think about water, pollution, our environment, and the things we often overlook in everyday life.

It reminds me that art doesn’t have to simply be beautiful or decorative. Sometimes art is powerful because it makes us uncomfortable, curious, or thoughtful. The meaning is not only in what we see, but in what we discover behind it.

The artwork becomes a conversation not just a decoration or object on a wall.

Art is more than decoration.

I believe art is not simply something beautiful to look at or something that fills an empty space on a wall. Art carries meaning. It can hold memories, emotions, experiences, questions, hopes, and even things that are difficult to express with words.

When I create, I don’t want to make something that is only visually pleasing. I want each piece to have a feeling and a story behind it. The colors, textures, layers, movement, and even the empty spaces can represent something deeper.

Sometimes, the meaning of a piece comes from the artist. Other times, the viewer brings their own memories and experiences to it and finds a meaning that may be completely different from what the artist originally intended.

For me, that is one of the beautiful things about art. It can speak quietly to the heart. It can remind us of a person, a place, a season of life, a feeling, or a moment we thought we had forgotten.

My art is not created simply to decorate a room. I want it to create an atmosphere, invite reflection, and hopefully bring a sense of peace, hope, or connection to the person who lives with it.

Art can decorate a space, but meaningful art can also become part of someone’s story.

My art is not simply decoration. Every piece has a concept, meaning, and intention behind it.

When I take on a commission, I like to take time to meditate, reflect, and study the space where the artwork will live. I think about the atmosphere, the natural light, the colors, the surroundings, and the feeling the client wants to create.

I also believe that communication and consent are an important part of the creative process. I want to understand my client’s vision, preferences, and what they feel comfortable with before I begin creating.

My goal is not simply to make a beautiful painting to fill an empty wall. I want to create something meaningful something that feels connected to the space, carries a deeper story, and brings a certain feeling to the people who experience it.
