This painting is a tribute to women’s health, women’s needs and women’s breast cancer awareness. Proceeds for this piece goes to the American Breast Cancer Association in Augusta, GA to directly support a woman battling breast cancer or in urgent need of preventative care.

Throw back to this mural I painted in 2017. Reminiscent of illustrations from my favorite books: 1001 Arabian Nights, the Rubaiyats of Omar Khayyam, The Prophet by Khalil Gibran. This image is that of the beautiful woven folklore and gardens that writers of the east lamented of and illustrators of the West brought to life with true mystical intrigue. It’s a window of nostalgia for a era of great written oral traditions. What better a mural could I want in my parents home?

Our portrait will shift, change, and alter as life takes us through its many tests. Painted with poor local materials and in less than 15 minutes during an art therapy session I was helping lead for IDP survivors of the Boko Haram conflict, my portrait captured what words can’t describe about my own growth and profound experience in Nigeria. Ever grateful to the beautifully resilient people of that country, ever grateful for the person I am today.
Ever grateful to be reminded of my inner power.
