My name is Heidi Hood, owner & founder of Heidi Hood Music & Entertainment, home to two of my passion businesses – Feeling Fanciful and Siren Singers.
I believe that everyone should stay connected to that child-like heart within themselves and live their lives in a way that expresses the magic of hope and joy we all search for every day. Everyone deserves to have at least one good dream come true in their lifetime… and I’m thrilled to make that happen!
So let me tell you a little more about myself! I’m an incurable dreamer who’s been singing, dramatizing, and “playing dress up” since the age of four, showing first signs of the entrepreneurial bug by the age of ten.
Most days you can find me sipping hot tea in a comfy robe at home, toiling away making dreams come true from my cozy office.
I’m in love with what I do, since I get to vent both my creative and administrative juices in one place. But I also love a good day of Netflix on the couch with my hubby or a fancy night out with the girls.
My obsessions include warm buttery popcorn, my collection of Victorian tea cups, live theatre, and most of all my charming hubby Grant.
Read on to see how Feeling Fanciful came to be!
In the beginning of 2016, I was in a rather sad place, having lost much of my hope and drive due to a long, drawn-out turn of unfortunate events. I was a much different person from the lively one you may see today. I had no idea, but some of the dreams I’d nearly given up on were about to come true.
The first dream that came true was when I was cast as Mary Poppins, a dream role in an onstage production which resurrected my love for performing arts and theatre. Then suddenly, the love of my life proposed to me, and everything fell into place for our dream wedding and buying a house together. Soon after that, another dream came true when one of my cast mates introduced me to this magical world of “professional princessing”… and I was smitten.
After a lifetime of wondering if I’d ever find a way to express every part of my passions and giftings in one place, this was it. Suddenly, I was on a mission to make dreams come true for everyone else searching for hope and joy like me.
Within two short years, I went from not even knowing princess parties existed, to owning my own business and hosting events every weekend. It appeared as though I’d finally found “my thing.”
It’s rather ironic to me, but when I was a little girl I always cried about something at my birthday party. If anything was even slightly “off” to me or didn’t go the way I’d hoped, I broke down in tears. (I know, right – my poor mom!) But now, I get to create birthday parties for a living, and I have a built-in passion to make sure everything comes off in the best possible way.
My baby business has had its share of ups and downs, as most small start-ups would in their first few years. But it always pulls through, and I owe so much of that to my amazing TEAM! I’m so grateful for them, and they have given me more hope and joy than they’ll ever know. Together, we bring hope and joy to so many others who want to believe that dreams really do come true, too!
