During this incredibly difficult time, I feel it is important to address a few matters publicly.

The coroner informed our family that the decisions regarding my brother’s final remains do not rest with my mother, but instead with his adult children. While we respect the law, this has been an incredibly difficult reality for our family to process during a time of profound grief.

I also want to address the fact that the memorial flyer I created to honor my brother is being used for fundraising in his name without my knowledge or consent. That flyer was created solely to celebrate and honor his life, and it has been painful to see it used for another purpose.

This statement is not meant to create conflict or division. It is simply my truth and my experience during one of the most difficult moments of my life. My hope is that my brother’s life, legacy, and memory are honored with the dignity, love, compassion, and respect he deserves.

For those who have reached out regarding funeral or memorial arrangements, I do not have that information. Please direct those questions to my brother’s adult children, as they are responsible for those decisions.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out with prayers, love, and support. Please continue to keep our family in your prayers.

Yesterday, my family and I experienced the heartbreaking loss of my big brother, Rashaud T. Grant. He was deeply loved, and his memory will forever live in our hearts. Please keep our family in your prayers as we grieve and honor his life. I will be taking a break from social media to be with family and friends during this difficult time.

December 17, 1974 – July 31, 2026
Rest peacefully, Rashaud. You will always be loved and never forgotten. 🕊️🤍
