Exciting News! As of Jan 2024, we have evolved towards deeper aspects of music, dance, and chants. We will now be also focusing on aspects relating to how classical arts and sanskrit chants can have a positive impact on one’s mental and physical wellness.
Since our inception in 2009, we have always worked on bringing global awareness of Indian classical art forms. Our first article that was published in 2009 was about the cognitive benefits of Carnatic music, and why learning music improves concentration, and other cognitive aspects. Read here -> https://www.musicnamaste.com/why-learn-carnatic-music/ .Post this, we expanded in various ways – providing offline classes for basics, and were the pioneers in 2009 bringing a teacher student format of offline recorded lessons on YouTube. View our channel here ( https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCta-X4inDmBrKoOI2_8xJ1w). We also brought out concert experience write-ups way back in 2009. We published several articles pertaining to Carnatic Music Theory in 2009, some of which were linked in Shankar Mahadevan Music Academy Online portal.
During the covid times we initiated online cultural events in all classical art forms, and have conducted more than 400 Expressions (short performances) and about 75 Spotlight performances (focusing on the artist and art form). The purpose of initiating these performances was to promote universal healing via classical arts. We are truly overwhelmed with the support we received and the impact these events had on the global community. As a testimonial of our work, you are welcome to view our guest book (https://www.musicnamaste.com/musicnamaste-guest-book/) . We also started a special section on MusicNamaste called Raga Podium – highlighting the nuances of raagas, and the effects they can have on one’s mood and health. You can visit Raga Podium here. Today, we have evolved towards deepening our presence in the areas of research and experience of how classical arts – for example, Carnatic music, Hindustani music, Bharatanatyam, or the Sanskrit chants, can have positive effects on one’s mental well-being and physical well-being.
We have already begun our work and have published the following articles as below -
