When Logan & Lauren made their reception entrance, they wanted it BIG.

Thunderstruck by AC/DC.
Napkins flying in the air.
A packed dance floor.
And enough energy to set the tone for the entire night.

Then Logan hit the dance floor, dropped into the worm, and the crowd absolutely lost it.

One of my favorite things about weddings is that every couple gets to tell their story in their own way. For Logan & Lauren, that story started with a whole lot of fun, laughter, and energy.

What a way to kick off an incredible celebration.

Congratulations, Logan & Lauren. Thanks for letting Hitch & Spin be a small part of your story. ❤️

Well… the good news is they got it.

The bad news? That second layer was a lot more exciting than I had planned.

Yesterday was rough. Today is a little better.

At one point I told the nurse that if we had to go much deeper, I was going to end up looking like Lord Voldemort. Thankfully, we stopped short of that. 😂

But honestly, this little adventure is a good reminder that life isn’t always easy. Sometimes it’s surgeries. Sometimes it’s diagnoses. Sometimes it’s loss, setbacks, or things you never saw coming.

The goal isn’t to avoid hard things. The goal is to keep moving forward through them.

So I’m grateful. Grateful they caught it. Grateful it’s behind me. Grateful for all the prayers, texts, and encouragement.

And now? I’ve got three weddings this weekend, some incredible couples to celebrate, and stories to be a part of.

Bandage and all… let’s go. ❤️

Yesterday at a wedding, they had a grazing table with a block of cream cheese covered in pepper jelly.

The second I saw it, I was transported back to being a kid.

I remembered my mom convincing (or forcing 😄) my sister to try pepper jelly for the first time. It was one of those simple family moments that probably didn’t seem important at the time… but somehow stayed with me all these years.

My sister was on my mind a lot yesterday.

Before she passed, I told her I would take her with me to every wedding I do. And in a lot of ways, I have.

Sometimes it’s a song.
Sometimes it’s a conversation.
Sometimes it’s a random appetizer on a grazing table.

She always encouraged me to live fully, love people well, and make the most of the days we’re given.

So that’s what I’m trying to do.

Life is precious. Stories matter. And sometimes the smallest reminders become the biggest gifts.

Miss you, sis.

Wedding number 21 of May is happening today, and I just finished officiating Lauren & Logan’s ceremony here at Willow Creek. Now it’s time to change into my DJ clothes and get ready for an incredible reception.

It’s hard to put into words how grateful I am.

Every wedding is a new story. New people. New families. New moments I’ll never forget. And after all these years, I still love getting a front-row seat to one of the biggest days of someone’s life.

The truth is, pursuing what you’re called to do isn’t always easy. There are challenges, doubts, long days, and moments when it would be easier to quit. I’ve had those moments too.

But I’m reminded of Paul’s words:

“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

Today I’m thankful. Thankful for Lauren & Logan. Thankful for every couple who trusts Hitch & Spin with their story. And thankful that I still get to do something I truly love.

Your story matters, and I’m honored to help tell it.

Cole & Aldana’s wedding was a reminder that it’s not about how big the celebration is… it’s about the people.

This was a simple micro wedding at a beautiful home, surrounded by family, friends, and a whole lot of love. I brought a few uplights and added them around the dance floor—not because I had to, but because I wanted to help make the moment feel a little more special.

As their private last dance started under the string lights, I snapped this photo. I’m definitely not a photographer, but I was pretty proud of how it turned out.

More than anything, I love finding little ways to help tell a couple’s story and create moments they’ll remember long after the music ends.

Your story matters, and I’m honored to help tell it.

Star Wars fans, this one’s for you.

As a lifelong Star Wars fan myself, I may have been just a little excited about this one.

Sarah entered to Princess Leia’s Theme, and Sarah and Kendall exited to Victory Celebration as husband and wife.

I love moments like this because they remind me that the best weddings aren’t about following a template. They’re about telling your story and celebrating the things that make you uniquely you.

Whether it’s Star Wars, a favorite movie, a shared hobby, or a family tradition, those personal touches are what people remember.

May the Force be with Sarah and Kendall as they begin this incredible new adventure together. ❤️

I know you probably can’t tell it in this video, but I am absolutely soaked. It was hot, humid, and I sweated through everything I had on today. 😅

But you know what? It was worth every second.

Today was Sarah and Kendall’s wedding, and they are just incredible people with an incredible family. The whole day was filled with joy, laughter, and the kind of moments that remind me why I love what I get to do.

One of the things we ran into was the dance floor. They had given me a playlist ahead of time, they wanted me to us, and I was mixing it, but it just wasn’t creating the energy they were hoping for.iAbout halfway through, Brandy, their coordinator, came over and said, “They want you to throw the playlist out and just do your thing.”

So I did.

The reason that worked isn’t because I’m some kind of magician. It’s because I had spent time getting to know Sarah and Kendall. We’d talked about their vision, their personalities, their people, and what they wanted their celebration to feel like. I knew their heart.

For the next hour and a half, that dance floor never stopped.

That’s why choosing your DJ is about so much more than a playlist, a social media highlight reel, or a brochure. It’s about finding someone who wants to know your story, understand your people, and then execute when the moment comes.

Today was a perfect reminder that great weddings aren’t just planned. They’re led.

Sarah and Kendall, thank you for letting me be a small part of such an amazing day. ❤️

May has been a busy one.

Today marks my 19th wedding of the month, and by the time May comes to a close, Hitch & Spin will have been part of 26 weddings. Of those, I’ll personally have had the honor of serving at 22 of them.

I’m not sure I’ve ever said this enough, but I absolutely love what I get to do.

Since January, we’ve been part of 62 weddings, and every single one has been a reminder that this isn’t just about music, timelines, or microphones. It’s about people. It’s about stories. It’s about being trusted with some of life’s biggest moments and helping create memories that will last for years to come.

Today we get to celebrate Sarah and Kendall at Arrowwood, and I’m looking forward to being part of another incredible wedding day. Yesterday was a little warm, but it was beautiful, the crowd was amazing, and it was another reminder of why I love this so much.

Every story matters, and it’s an honor to help tell them.
