The Forgotten Coast en Plein Air is in full swing in our area. I was so fortunate to participate in a day long workshop with Cindy Briggs. It was a refreshing day to get back to painting along the water’s edge at Frank Pate Park in the morning and then by the Cape San Blas lighthouse in the afternoon. An enjoyable day where I was able to forget about daily responsibilities and allow myself to feel and hear nature and just paint.

Finally had the opportunity to participate in Iain Stewart’s workshop held by the Southern Watercolor Society in Quincy, FL. It’s been 50+ years since I’ve been in Quincy and I had forgotten what a quaint, historic town it is. We strolled in the city square and watched Iain create in his sketchbook, then we had the opportunity to work in our own. On the final day, we painted a scene from Scotland (Iain’s home country). Great workshop!

This year's Christmas "doodles" for the "littles" in our family. I still have a few more to go..time is precious since my Mom has been living with us and needing more help.

The Joe Center for the Art Members Market has started with a bang! I sold two paintings opening night! Snowy Plovers and one of the Cape San Blas shell collection have a new home! That means I get to replace those on my wall. Sweet Bunz and Shrimper in the Canal went up today.

If you are local, please visit often as the art changes almost on a daily basis with new pieces being put up.

I forgot to take a picture of my wall at the Art Market at the Joe Center for the Arts. I will get that at our opening reception.

One of the benefits to the artists participating in the Market is more art can be added as pieces sell. This is it not the norm for an exhibit where pieces sold remain hanging until the end of the exhibit.

What this mean is we invite you to come back often to check out what new art is hung. I had too many paintings to fit on my wall so Sweet Bunz isn't up yet. And I had my newest painting - Driftwood Inn - that came home with me to wait it's turn on the wall. It's the newest painting in my "Paint the Town" series I've planned.

Also be sure to check out the front window...pieces from each participating artist are shown to whet your appetite!
