Hard to choose which photo best describes how bad our street took a hit early yesterday morning (among thousands of others) and while it could’ve been so much worse the clean up has had to be careful surgical precision work for so many including us! On one side behind our neighbors fallen pecan tree (on our drive way) our home that can’t be seen 1 as that’s how massive it is with a large limb hanging across the rooftop tempting a serious problem if not cut properly - we’ve cleaned up what we can and leaving that big cut to the pros! On the other side of our home our large pecan tree fell across our neighbors car and truck and teetering against their roof so again awaiting the pros! But the people across the way have a 100+ year old oak tree embedded in their garage and home as they await an insurance adjuster. Fortunately they are roofers so after careful extraction of hanging limbs they could safely work to patch other damage! Every street around us and ours for a square mile looks like this- downed power lines are no longer a shock to see but the norm over here and while GPL and Oncor do their thing we all wait with so many! Last outage map for Oncor (our provider) posted an hour or so ago still shows 13,996 open ticket outages with 202,197 people without service - we’re on that list somewhere - but I won’t complain. We’re alive, my car that I cherish is unscathed, the other vehicles are too and the temps are not terrible…it’s the little things! ❤️ It was great to see everyone come out of their homes in terrible rain conditions and work tirelessly all day long to clear the streets, help one another, and cheer each other on. As for Mark, Zach, and I we are tired like everyone, sore like everyone, but still counting our blessings! ❤️ hang in there everyone - I’m sure many have the same harrowing stories and our hearts are with you ❤️
