Calling Actors Interested in Cypress Stage

As Cypress Stage prepares for upcoming productions, we are building a notification list for actors whose background aligns with the professional scope of our current production model.

At this stage of our growth, our casting focus is on performers who have prior professional performance experience and are comfortable working in a fast-paced, professional rehearsal environment.

If this feels like a good fit for where you are in your artistic journey, we invite you to complete our Talent Interest Form to be notified when auditions are announced.

 Cypress Stage is currently in the process of securing our performance venue. While we do not have active casting calls today, we are busy preparing for a grand inaugural season.

An important update on Raise the Roof

You may have seen a recent post about Cypress Stage that referenced a venue we were preparing to call home. Since then, that space has become unavailable.

What hasn’t changed is our commitment to bringing live theatre to Cypress.

We’ve updated the Raise the Roof campaign to focus on securing an interim performance venue—a space that allows our inaugural season to move forward now while we continue building momentum toward a permanent home.

And that momentum is already real.

Thanks to our early supporters, we’ve raised $12,500! It’s a powerful start—and proof that this community believes in what we’re building. But there is still important ground to cover to secure an interim space and continue moving toward a permanent home for Cypress Stage.

This interim step matters.
It’s how productions get staged.
How seniors, families, and young audiences are served.
How Cypress Stage becomes real—not someday, but soon.

Spending the weekend prepping for auditions? Here are some things to keep in mind!

You will be doing cold reads from the scripts, so no monologue is needed.

The musical for the season (“The Taffetas”) has a cast of just four female-presenting characters. Singing is not necessary if you are not interested in being cast in this show.

Please bring a resume and a headshot with you.

Cypress Stage is excited to announce auditions for our upcoming season! Artistic Director, Ron Jones, is seeking talented, passionate performers of all ages, ethnicities, and experience levels.

Audition Dates & Times
• Saturday, December 14 — 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM
• Monday, December 16 — 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Location
Heritage Presbyterian Church

Plays
• Barefoot in the Park – multi-racial production
• The Taffetas - all female 50's musical
• Luce
• A Lovely Sunday for Creve Coeur
• Mystery show TBD

Audition Requirements
• Cold Readings from the scripts
• Singers: Prepare songs from the 50's or the musical theatre genre
o Bring sheet music clearly marked for the accompanist.
o A ca****la auditions are accepted but not preferred.

Additional Details
• Auditions will include a brief movement call for those interested in musical roles - please dress comfortably.
• Please bring a headshot and résumé.
• Must be available
• All roles include a stipend.
