We hosted a brand new plaster textured floral class last night!

This was a lot of messy and fun exploration using glue, plaster, and acrylic paint. These ladies did an incredible job and had a lot of fun learning something new!

We constantly urge our kids to step out of their comfort zones and try new things but I think somewhere along the lines of being an adult, we stop doing what we constantly preach. It's okay to be new at something, it's actually pretty wonderful to lose yourself in your curiosity while letting yourself play.

Unfortunately we did not have enough interest to host our Sketching Cynthiana workshop this evening (which is a shame because it's a beautiful day and it was a lot of fun last time!). This class is cancelled for this evening.

We will still be having our Textured Plaster night tomorrow so grab a remaining spot and help us fill up the rest of the class!

What's more fun than spending two hours crafting? Spending two hours crafting with friends!

We still need another 290 squares for our statewide mural. Please grab a couple of gal pals and join us at a workshop this summer to learn about fiber art and create your part of our mural. No art experience necessary!

Our next summer camp is happening next week and this one is going to be fun!

Ages have been adjusted to 5-12. We will be working from 1-3pm working on building solar systems, astronaut helmets, and glow-in-the-dark moons!

You can book all 3 days on the website through the event link, OR if you would like to just book a drop-in day, those are available under book a class on our website!

Let's bring some creativity (and education!) into your summer, where you don't have to clean up the mess! The kids will also have the capacity to explore additional materials and have their own creative time within the studio if they finish a project up early.

Registration is required so I know how many kids to expect and how much material is needed for each day.

Introducing another maker from our retail side!

Meet Tammy Washburn of DW SHORTSTICKS out of Stamping Ground! She makes beautiful serving trays, cutting boards, hangers, walking sticks, and more from to***co sticks! They are a huge part of Kentucky's history and what better way to utilize them than to create a beloved treasure out of them.

From the Maker:
"DW Short Sticks started when a friend asked my late husband to use family to***co sticks to make cutting boards. He wanted them made for his grandkids, to have a piece of the family farm. For the last 12 years I have made various items using to***co sticks from Scott and Bourbon Counties. These old to***co sticks were made from various woods, such as walnut, chestnut, oak, poplar, and hickory. This wood craft is my way of showing off the beauty of these sticks, some over 100 years old."
