So we are working on a fun way to give back to the Cut Bank Community this year. This is a test but we hope to do it each year if it works out. We got community feedback on how to do this and you can go to the page below to participate or just see the results. We are making a limited edition Cut Bank Wolves coin. 50 will be sold for $50 ea with $20 of each sale going to the organization that the purchaser chooses. We are currently in the voting stage and we will cap the organizations at 10. You can vote without making a purchase. It will ask for your email and will send you a email verification link you need to click for your vote to count. (Check your spam folder) We are not collecting the emails or doing anything other than trying to limit duplicate votes. We will also be auctioning off the one of a kind test coin that has just 2026 as the year. The winner of this will pay the full winning bid price directly to the organization of their choice. I hope people find this fun and we hope it helps support some local student programs.

Montana Arts Council does a lot!

What is it the Montana Arts Council actually does? Read all about it—in the Fall issue of State of the Arts. In this issue, we talk about many of our programs and how they help support artists and Montana's creative economy. Among the stories:

We discuss what the Montana Arts Council does, day in and day out, and how the arts contribute to our state's economy.

We look at the Montana Folk Festival and they ways in which traditional arts keep Montana's cultural heritage alive, functional, and often amazingly beautiful.

The Arts Council's Creative Aging program contributes to lifelong learning, which contributes to better health and quality of life for older Montanans.

We sneak into a session of Art Works, which teaches working artists the business side of earning a living through creativity,.

Strategic Investment Grants help arts organizations do all the mundane stuff around making art.

The Governor's Arts Awards? They're like the Oscars for Montana's creative community. See who's honored in 2026.

Poetry Out Loud is back for another year of exciting competition, as Montana's high school students learn and recite poetry on stage, for a chance to go to Nationals in Washington, DC.

Cut Bank First Friday classes are taught in partnership with Cut Bank School District 15 Adult Education Program and supported by Cultivate Cut Bank.

We have a festive start to the holidays!

Class: Christmas Cards

Instructor: Barbara Claybourn with Quilts Happen

In this class, we will make some lovely Christmas cards for those special people in your life! These cards are completely customizable to create unique pieces of Christmas art. All materials are provided to make 5-6 cards of your choice. No previous skills required - I will teach you! Join me in this relaxing and creative class and have some beautiful Christmas cards to take with you!

Date and Time: November 6th, 6-8pm

Location: Quilts Happen Classroom

Fee: $25

Payment is required to secure your spot in the class. Cancellations the same day as class will not be refunded.

Got space?

Cut Bank First Friday is looking for wall space to hang works created during the season. Weather it's sharing creatations produced in class or a grouping at the end of the season in art show fashion, we would like to display artwork in the community.

Letting others view your work can be scary, but it can also be inspiring! It's important for all people to view art, especially in unexpected places, a bank, a hospital or clinic waiting room, a tire shop, the grocety store, etc.

Space is needed for 5 to 15 spots of thoughtfully curated works to be displayed for about a month. Worried about nail holes, we have solutions to keep your wall surface hole free.

Businesses who help show off works will be featured in social media posts and mentioned throughout the season. It may drive traffic to your business but we're hoping it builds momentum towards a future artwalk in our community!
