Throw some resin with me!
I had some failures from different resin types and wanted to run some experiments. These clips are unedited, just strung together.
From this experiment I found that the resin can be very tough but thin legs and parts are susceptible to breaking. Adding flexibility will keep them from breaking but I can’t do that with spindly legged guys or they’ll bend too much and we can’t have that.
The first few throws are with the resin I typically use but with longer curing times for rigidity. The Pegasus was from a resin I was curious about but it’s way too brittle so I’ll have to find another job for it. The last two were two different brands. The translucent white was a really old bottle and it held up well. The other was the resin I use at what I find is its optimal cure time.
Design also plays an important part. Again, large bodies on thin legs pose a challenge because too flexible will bend and too brittle will break. No matter what we use, this is still resin and it all has a snapping point, unless it’s a rubber like resin.
Please don’t toss your ponies onto hard tiles. 🤣🤣. This was for science only, using mostly failed prints
I’ll play with more resins and see what happens in the future. But for now enjoy!
