I am extremely excited for the upcoming year. I have lots of projects in the works and have plans to reopen my Etsy shop, after receiving a lot of positive feedback and inquiries. Happy Winter Solstice!

It’s not much, but it’s coming together nicely and it’s mine. 😍 Painting is commencing today in my studio / office space. Waiting on some furniture to come in and I need to hang my shelves and get it organized. The garage will be my space for things that need adequate ventilation like the use of liver of sulfur, using my glass grinder, soldering, cutting metal, using the dremel, and my wood burner. It needs major organization but, it’s coming along. Having asthmatics in the house has meant before that I couldn’t really use certain tools indoors and having limited space meant I just couldn’t easily or practically expand my art work. I’m so grateful to have this space to work and express my art.

Happy birthday to meeee! 💚🖤💚🖤 Lol although today is my birthday I did have some errands to run all over town and later I have a pretty demanding paper I have to work on..and although I don’t actually NEED any art supplies, you bet your ass if I’m within a mile or two of my favorite art store, I’m stopping by. These Kuretake watercolor brush pens are my absolute favorite. I’m slowly building up my collection and pick up a few any time I’m near by.

Found some canvases I didn’t know I had! Lol maybe a sign to start painting again. 😍

Four months.

Four whole months I’ve been “gone”.

The last year has been a unique one to say the least.

The last time I posted was in February and I have had SO much go on in my personal life over the last four months and sometimes you just have to step back and take a break. Sometimes that break is an extended one. Lol

For starters one of the major life changes we’ve gone through over the last four months was preparing our house to sell, selling it, buying a new one, and moving.

We’re in the final stages of preparing to move. 🎉

There’s a light at the end of the tunnel and I feel like I can breathe again. (And create more!)

I am ecstatic to be in my new space and creating again! All of my paints, wire, crystals, and tools have been tucked away in storage and I absolutely cannot wait to get them out again.

This is one of my favorite weave patterns. It’s pretty common and popularly used, but it’s one of my faves. One of my first pieces I ever made was with this weave pattern, although it was with bronze wire. I think the silver looks best.

Here’s a little haiku for ya..

The clouds are dark.
The winter is always long.
I hate the damn cold.

I think I’m part bear because since December I honestly haven’t wanted to do anything but, snug under a blanket. Seriously I have so many pieces I’ve started on but, no motivation to finish. It’s the weather. Winter always puts me in a “I’m not really depressed so why don’t I want to do anything?” phase. Needless to say, I’ve been kinda quiet on social media cause, meh. 🤣

But, anyway here are some pieces I recently got #1 Azurite #2 & 3 Chrysocolla.

I am in love with the beautiful greens and blues in this Azurite! I don’t know if it will be available for purchase when I finish it, cause I kinda wanna keep it for myself. 🤣

I did also get a really gorgeous piece of Apatite...which I immediately dropped on the floor and shattered it. 😬 It’s been a rough January.

I have added some square and half-round wire to my inventory that I’m super excited to work with. I have some ideas. 😋😍

My current course is wrapping up in the next two weeks which will free up some time for me to try to put in some creative time before my next class starts. I have THREE classes left in my MBA and I’m soooo excited to get this past me and graduate.

I hope you are all well and surviving this god awful cold weather. 💙🥶

I am the least experienced in using gouache paints and I did this little piece really quick the other day. Lol feelin a little rusty but, I otherwise really love these paints. 😍

I’ve been a little MIA the last week or so. It’s felt needed to process everything going on in the world. But, the sun came out yesterday for what feels like the first time in weeks and it’s shining bright this morning as well.

A trip to the art supply store also helps 🤣

I have so many different mediums I use in my work, but I especially love these watercolor brush pens by Kuretake. They’re excellent for detailing. 🖤

The Remix

Thank you for visiting my little corner of the internet. Kyanite + Copper Studio is my little creative endeavor where I share my handmade copper wire wrapped crystals and artwork. In addition to wire wrapping, I also create mixed media art with watercolors, acrylic, pencil/graphite, gouche, Copic Marker, glass, wire, ink, and colored pencils, as my preferred mediums.

If my work looks a little familiar, that’s because Kyanite + Copper Studio is formerly known as Sun Cancer / Moon Pisces. Long story short, after some time considering a rebrand, the universe forced my hand and thanks to myself not being as technologically savvy as I thought I was, I “unintentionally” (let’s be honest, I wasn’t paying attention) and removed myself as an admin for my previous page. Over a year of hard work and dedication to THAT page, gone in a click. My art is expanding to glasswork, electroforming, and intuitive painting, (In other words, I just paint whatever comes to mind) my art style is expanding and I’m excited for the new direction I’m going in.

The universe works in mysterious ways. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. :)

Thanks for checking out my work and feel free to invite others to check out my work as well.
