Mesa County Fantasy Faire – Guest Housekeeping

With the Faire merely days away, setup is in progress, and those involved are excited and ready to share their craft, goods, and talents with the community. Please review these important housekeeping items before attending:

- Weather: Expect upper 80s to low 90s with wind and high UV. Plan accordingly. Secure hats, cloaks, and displays — gusts may be strong.

- Tickets: If you pre‑purchased tickets on our website, your name will be on the list at the front gate. Please be prepared to show identification.

- Volunteer Check‑In: Volunteers may pick up their tickets as early as 9:30 AM on Friday.

- Weapons: All weapons must be peace‑tied.

- Food & Drink: Outside food and drink are not permitted; plenty of vendors will be on site.

- Re‑Entry: You may exit and return, but you must have an untampered wristband. Lost or damaged wristbands will not be replaced — no exceptions.

- Parking: Parking is free. Signs and attendants will direct you to a parking spot and guide you to the gate. There might be overflow parking available but cost will be at the operator’s discretion.

- ADA Parking: ADA parking is available on property. Enter through the residents’ gate and display a visible placard. Spots are limited.

- Entry Points: All guests will enter through the main gate, except ADA attendees.

- Youth Admission: Admission is free for guests under 12 on Friday only. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

First Aid & Lost and Found: Both are located at the Guild of Compassion Tent.

- Service Animals: Only trained service animals are permitted; comfort animals are not allowed.

- Facilities: Restrooms and hand‑washing stations will be serviced daily.

- Hydration: Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Electrolytes will be available at the Guild of Compassion Tent.

- Photography: Moon Media is our official Faire photographer. If you see them, feel free to show off your creations!

- Veterans will be able to pick up their wristbands from the Veterans Art Center on September 2. Replacement of lost or damaged wristbands will be at the center’s discretion.

Someone answered the very random call to handle costume repair.

Meet Solaire, the Cosplay Repair Jester!

Every adventurer knows they can face any dragon if their fit is perfection! But what happens when you hear a tiny little pop… and realize a button just flew, smacking the dragon in the eye!

Listen, Solaire understands just how much blood, sweat, hot glue, stitching, safety pins, and late nights go into bringing a cosplay to life. And when a bobby pin goes astray, a seam starts to unravel as quick as your coin purse empties at the Merry Tankard, or a piece of your costume dangles, taunting all of your hard work, it makes Solaire terribly, terribly sad.

So they’ve made it their mission to help.

On September 5th & 6th, keep an eye out for Solaire the Cosplay Repair Jester, wandering the Fantasy Faire and lending a hand to fairegoers in need of quick touch-ups and emergency repairs. If your costume suddenly decides to betray you, find Solaire!

Of course… this is Solaire we’re talking about.

You may walk away with your costume repaired.

You may also receive a compliment.

Or a quest.

Or a jest.

Possibly all four.

We genuinely have no idea what Solaire will do.

But we can promise that encountering the Cosplay Repair Jester will probably become part of your Fantasy Faire story. (And meeting them might allow you to complete a quest.)

So if you spot those golden bells wandering through the fair, say hello… and perhaps check that all your buttons are still attached.

Solaire, the Cosplay Repair Jester

Look for the jester with the repair kit if you are in need of a safety pin or a little threading.

On Saturday, September 5th, 2026 at 2:00 PM, the Bardic Competition takes center stage as one of the most celebrated events of the entire Faire—an afternoon of storytelling, song, wit, and wonder that no guest should dare miss. And helping make this year’s performance truly unforgettable is one of our distinguished judges...

From the halls of Western Colorado to the spotlight of High Desert Opera, our next judge is a performer whose voice can lift spirits, hush crowds, and command entire realms. With a BA in Vocal Performance and Music Education, she leads the Charisma Chorus youth choir, co-directs the adult ensemble Take Note, and shapes the next generation of vocalists through private instruction.

She has embodied iconic roles—from Cruella deVil to Grizabella to Donna in Mamma Mia—and graced the stage in Scott Betts’ operetta Eclipse, all while lending her talents to the Western Colorado Chorale. A seasoned adjudicator for solo and ensemble competitions across Delta and Grand Junction, she brings both expertise and passion to the Bardic Challenge.

Raise your voices for the incomparable Miriam Deming!
