It feels like fall outside here in Georgia, and that has me thinking about ornament season! It’s been a while since I dipped into the watercolors, but requested this painting of the Newton County Theme School for a fellow teacher friend, since they’re moving buildings this year from the old Ficquett to the old Eastside building. I love doing these architectural pieces, combining my love for detail in the pen work with color blending and the softness of watercolor.

I’ll have this piece available as a print for anyone who is interested in having a keepsake of the old building where so many generations of Newton County kids went to school, first as Ficquett Elementary and then as NCTS. ❤️

My nieces and nephew always present a challenge with their yearly ornament, and this year was no exception (especially that Mech Arena robot)! 😅😅 The youngest is obsessed with Rubble On The Double from Paw Patrol, the middle loves all things Encanto, so she got a Mirabel holding Abuela’s candle, and the oldest is into Mech Arena this year, and specifically asked for Arachnos.

Away in a manger…no room for a bed…the little Lord Jesus laid down his sweet head.

I’ve got two of these nativities up for grabs, $40 each, includes Mary, Joseph, Jesus, manger, barn, cow, pig, and two sheep. First come, first served!

Note, they are polymer clay so while they’re not as delicate as the ornaments I make due to their design, they are breakable. They’re suitable for gentle play for kids who are old enough to be careful, but not suitable for really little kids.
