So, what is a Featured Nonprofit, anyway?
The Alaskan Christmas Bazaar is organized and run by volunteers. Each year, the Board chooses a local nonprofit as the Featured Nonprofit. We donate, spread awareness, and feature them at a table in the Auditorium.
This year's Featured Nonprofit is AK Afterglow. The mission of this organization catches our hearts and reminds us that there are Alaskan parents who need our light during the dark time after losing a child.
AK Afterglow alleviates the financial burden for families who have experienced the loss of a pregnancy or death of a child. They provide funding to help cover the costs of burial or cremation services, and offer comprehensive bereavement support through grief support groups and trained peer companions.
Look for their booth just inside the Auditorium to the left of the doors. Stop by, encourage them, chat, get more info-- and thank you for your patronage of the Bazaar that helps us help AK Afterglow!
We get to support a second nonprofit this year--so stay tuned to hear about that!
