🚩 Red Flag Alert🚩

Photographers, ANYTIME you see an event organizer use the term "great opportunity" or "great exposure" just know that it is going to end up being a nightmare for you. It doesn't matter what pay was discussed or not, those 2 words means there is almost a guarantee that there will be issues when it comes to you getting paid for your services. Sadly, the post in the picture is gaining a large number of likes, tags, etc. Somewhere out there, a few photographers are about to get swindled. If you're interested in taking that project on, DO NOT even take your camera out of your bag until you get paid and DO NOT book it if the organizer won't sign your contract.

Best and Worst Photography Presets of 2023. Reverie+Oak comes in fiirst place because of the versatility. SMAL loses my vote for the year due to the personal actions of the owner.

Y'all will be seeing some changes here at RiverTownCollective for 2024. I'll lay out some of the most important changes that you can expect to see throughout next year and beyond.

1. My booking calendar will be INCREDIBLY limited. As I partially transition from shooting primarily to educating, mentoring, and assisting other photographers,, you'll begin to see less availability for bookings.

2. Full enforcement of my written contracts. This one is self explanatory. There is one caveat to this. If you ghost me on a TFP shoot, I will blacklist you permanently (this is applicable for future requests for TFP or paid sessions).

3. Client will now be responsible for booking location for bo***ir shoots. I have many locations and venue vendors I can recommend, but I will no longer be locking in those locations. I've had too many people ghost when I spend $300+ on a location). This is non-negotiable and is applicable to TFP and paid sessions.

4. Prior to shooting, you'll receive a short questionnaire pertaining to your shoot via email prior to booking. The completion of this questionnaire is non negotiable for TFP shoots.

5. I will be INCREDIBLY selective about who I bring on for TFP work moving forward. If I am bringing you on for free shoots, you'll be given a very clear set of instructions on wardrobe, makeup, hair, etc. If this will be an issue, please notify me in advance so I can cancel your booking.
