Home and business owners.

We understand how devastating this is for the community. We want to provide you with some information that has been passed along to us for all of you.

Now that the Governor has declared the flooding as a statewide emergency, we want to recommend to you what to do next.

Document. Document. Document.

Take photos as you asses damage. Keep record of everything during this time - mileage, fuel, equipment, anything purchased to clean, fix or whatever and keep receipts of purchases to do so.

We encourage you to use the available resources on the Emergency Management Resources available to you on the Indiana Deparment of Homeland Security Website.

https://www.in.gov/dhs/emergency-management-and-preparedness/individual-assistance

As we gather more information and suggestions we will share what we can.

You can also visit disasterassistance.gov for additional resources.

*** UPDATED on FRIDAY AUG.14th @ 1:40pm ***

Hello everyone. I have been on the phone and in contact with lots of people, groups, organizations, event planners and disaster relief experts in our area.
We, Sassy Peacock Events LLP and our fellow friends are combining our efforts, but also dividing up our expertise and buildings so that we do not get overwhelmed or overloaded in areas we have not handled before.

FIRST and foremost PLEASE be patient and careful as you travel through town. We have cleanup crews everywhere, especially on the east side of town. There are going to be travel delays, and lots of businesses closed for cleanup.

** City of Connersville is the only other FB page you should get your City information from. John Pause and his team are keeping it up to date with current and accuurate information.

** Road Update: Thurs Aug 14th @ 1:42pm
Both bridges are open. VINE STREET is CLOSED from 5th St to Alquina Rd. for clean up. Proceed with caution as there is debree and crews out working everywhere especially on the east side.

** TRASH PICKUP CHANGE
Thursday & Fridays pickup will be today (Friday 8/14). Please put your trash out now.
The Transfer Station is CLOSED to the public right now due to flooding. The power is out and there is still flood debris everywhere.

*** There is a rumor circulating online that city water isnt safe to drink. THIS IS FALSE. CITY WATER IS SAFE TO CONSUME ***

** Everton Regional Sewer District is asking their customers to restrict water usage wherever possible. In an effort to reduce the amount of wastewater flow going into Connersville, please limit long showers, laundry, don't let the water run if you're not using it, reduce extra flushes. Basically, be mindful of your water usage and use the minimal amount of water possible until we are past this flooding emergency.
....If you need assistance with evacuation please call

Congrats Johns Brothers General Store !!!!

Exciting news for downtown Connersville and the future of Johns Brothers General Store and the historic 408–414 Central Avenue building. We’re honored to be selected as a recipient of the Amex Shop Small Grants Program through American Express and Main Street America.

This national recognition is an investment in our continued efforts to restore and revitalize both Johns Brothers General Store and the full 408–414 Central Avenue Historic Building as a vibrant, community-centered destination in downtown Connersville. The grant will help support ongoing restoration efforts, improvements throughout the property, and future opportunities that strengthen both our business and our community.

We’re proud to represent Connersville as one of more than 500 small businesses across the country selected for this program and grateful to everyone who continues supporting our vision for preserving small-town history while building for the future.
