"The central subject of my prints is my love of black ink. I love its nuances, resonance, and power. My greatest influences are perhaps Piranesi and Rembrandt, artists who understood and exploited the full range of the printed black."

Installation View

Mike Smoot and Aric Russom are paired in geometric fashion with their final images reflecting one another with their practice being radically different.

Both use a layered technique, but Smoot uses a silk screen to translate images in a stacked fashion while Russom cuts linoleum boards overlaying their images

She works at her studio Abrazos Press .press in Somerville, MA. Where she carves and teaches students her methods with beeswax as a previous beekeeper

Lynn Newcomb is a Vermont-based artist whose travels around the world have deepened her engagement with the medium of printmaking. Despite her global explorations, she consistently returns to her home studio, where she works with etching, monotype and lithography, as well as large-scale steel sculpture.

"My prints are abstract and representational of various subjects. They are black and white done entirely by hand in traditional manner. Each proof is unique."
