It’s hard to frame into sentences how I felt when Jeremy teared up. I honestly didn’t know the ‘raging baboon’ was capable of it. The quote below by him fits it best I think:

“When someone fancy or spectacular dies, it’ll be sad. But when your mate dies... that is heartbreaking.” -JC 2019.

And that’s what Top Gear meant to me. It was my mate since childhood and so was The Grand Tour after that. It wasn’t fancy, not everyone knew about it (surprisingly), but I felt as though the show knew me, it knew what I liked and it delivered it to my heart.

It was pure happiness and joy watching these three phenomenal friends age along with each other, doing a show about cars and taking on epic adventures together for the last 16-17 years. It really is heartbreaking. What else can I say, it’s the end of an era.
