Our November exhibit, “Colors of Music” by Impact Nebraska Artists, explores how visual artists bring the rhythm, structure, and emotion of music to life through shapes and colors.

A Spooktacular Week Ahead in the Trackside District!

There's plenty happening in Downtown Columbus this week, October 25–31, and we've got a little something for everyone!

Shop & Explore! Kick off the week with a Christmas Gathering at Urban Farm Boutique, and stop by the Columbus Art Gallery to experience the 2026 ANAC Travel Art Show throughout the week.

Get Creative & Have Fun! From Dungeons & Dragons and StoryArt at the Columbus Public Library to a self-defense class and more, there's something to keep everyone busy!

Halloween Fun! Scare on the Square takes over Frankfort Square on Thursday evening, and Friday and Saturday bring Halloween parties, costumes, music, and plenty of spooky fun at your favorite downtown establishments!

Saturday in the Square! Start Halloween morning with the Columbus Farmers Market, bounce houses, It's All Fun N Games, and live music from Kayla Cruz!

Dine, Shop, Explore & Experience! Make plans to spend some time downtown, support our local businesses, and enjoy everything the Trackside District has to offer.

Art brings communities to life!

Yesterday, we attended the Fireside Chat with the National Endowment for the Arts at the Sheldon Museum of Art in Lincoln. Chairman Carter, Congressman Mike Flood, and Nebraska Arts Council Executive Director Mike Markey discussed the arts in Nebraska and federal funding opportunities.

We left with a powerful reminder: art makes a huge impact in both rural communities and larger cities. It is everywhere we turn, in murals, architecture, the design of our public spaces, and programs that connect art with wellness.

Art helps communities thrive. It brings people together, tells our stories, supports local creativity, and creates places where people feel connected and proud to call home.

We need to take time to notice and value the beauty around us, and recognize the artists, organizations, and investments that make it possible. Supporting the arts means supporting the life and future of our communities.

We also had the opportunity to see three of their current exhibits.❤️

¡El arte da vida a las comunidades!

Ayer asistimos a una charla informal Fireside Chat organizada por el National Endowment for the Arts (Fondo Nacional para las Artes) en el Sheldon Museum of Art, en Lincoln. El presidente de la entidad, Carter; el congresista Mike Flood; y el director ejecutivo del Nebraska Arts Council (Consejo de las Artes de Nebraska), Mike Markey, conversaron sobre el papel de las artes en Nebraska y las oportunidades de financiamiento federal.

Nos llevamos una reflexión contundente: el arte genera un impacto enorme, tanto en las comunidades rurales como en las grandes ciudades. Está presente dondequiera que miremos: en murales, en la arquitectura, en el diseño de nuestros espacios públicos y en programas que vinculan el arte con el bienestar.

El arte ayuda a que las comunidades prosperen. Une a las personas, narra nuestras historias, respalda la creatividad local y crea espacios donde los habitantes se sienten conectados y orgullosos de llamar a su lugar hogar.

🎨 A big thank-you to the Columbus Middle School Art Club for visiting the Columbus Art Gallery!

These 6th, 7th, and 8th graders got a behind-the-scenes look at Adi’s role as curator, learned how the gallery operates, and discovered how docents help welcome visitors and bring art to life.

Together, we explored the ANAC Travel Show and shared favorite pieces—and there were plenty of favorites! Adi also enjoyed learning about the students’ own artistic interests, including pastels, watercolors, drawing anime, and sculpting.

Thank you for making the Columbus Art Gallery part of your learning experience. We can’t wait to see where your creativity takes you—and hope to see your own artwork hanging on these walls someday! 💛
