FALL FOR THE ARTS MUSICIAN JIM DAVIS

For many people around Columbus, this is the Jim Davis they know β€” guitar in hand and ready to share a song.

Jim is well known throughout the area for his vocals and acoustic guitar, and on September 19 he'll have the distinction of kicking off the scheduled musical performances for Fall for the Arts.

Catch Jim at 11 a.m. at BrickSide at the Oak Room of Columbus for an acoustic performance that gets our day of music, art and creativity started.

But here's a little hint: music isn't the only way Jim tells a story.

You'll get to discover another side of his creativity during Fall for the Arts β€” and we'll be sharing more about that side of Jim soon.

MEET THE FALL FOR THE ARTS ARTIST | BRAD ZYWIEC

Recognize a few of these faces?

Brad Zywiec has a talent for capturing the faces β€” and personalities β€” that we recognize. His artwork ranges from detailed portraits of music and cultural icons to colorful creations on some rather unexpected canvases. Yes, we're looking at those shoes!

But during Fall for the Arts, Brad is turning his attention to a different subject:

YOU! 😁

Brad will be at Henry's on 11 creating caricatures, giving visitors the chance to watch an artist at work and experience the fun of seeing themselves interpreted through Brad's creative eye.

Columbus didn’t simply become a Creative District. It has worked to make the designation something residents can see, experience and participate in.

That work was recognized Sept. 2 in Kearney, where the 2026 CreDis Awards were presented during the Creative District Assembly, part of the Nebraska Arts Council’s 2026 Statewide Arts Conference.

The Columbus Trax Creative District was one of four Creative Districts recognized with a 2026 CreDis Award.

MEET THE FALL FOR THE ARTS ARTIST | BETTY OSBORN

Nature provides endless inspiration for Betty Osborn, whose colorful work captures the beauty found in the world around us.

Using watercolor pencils on canvas, Betty combines vibrant color, delicate detail and a modern approach to bring flowers, foliage and other elements of nature to life.

Betty is also a familiar face at the Columbus Art Gallery, where she volunteers as one of their wonderful docents β€” sharing her time and helping make art welcoming and accessible to visitors.

During Fall for the Arts, you'll find Betty and her artwork at Vintage Pine.

MEET THE FALL FOR THE ARTS MUSICIANS: LOS JUNIORS

They only met in 2025. They're both self-taught. And their musical journey is just getting started.

Meet Los Juniors β€” Juan and David, two Columbus-born Mexican-American musicians brought together by a shared love of music and culture.

At just 14, Juan has already been playing accordion for four years and is gaining plenty of experience on stage. David, who also began playing music at a young age, brings the distinctive sound of the bajo quinto to the duo.

Together, they've gone from playing family gatherings and parties to booking larger events β€” all while Juan balances high school and David balances college, work and his Mechanical Engineering studies.

We can't wait for you to hear them during Fall for the Arts!
