Progress is happening every day on Columbus' newest community mural!
What started as a wall damaged by graffiti is being transformed into a vibrant piece of public art thanks to a partnership between the TRAX Creative District, Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership Class 34, Omaha artist Kim Darling, and community volunteers.
Painting began on May 31 and will continue through next week as volunteers work together to bring this exciting project to life on the west wall of the It's All Fun n Games building at 1158 26th Avenue.
We're especially excited to be working with Kim Darling, whose passion for bringing people together through art has already made a positive impact in our community through artist residencies with local seniors and youth. This mural continues that spirit of connection, creativity, and community pride.
There is still time to get involved! Volunteer painting shifts are available, and no artistic experience is necessary. Join us and help create a piece of art that will be enjoyed for years to come. Then someday you'll be able to point to the mural and proudly say, "I helped make that!"
