when we started this project years ago, our stated intent was to be “the jazz offensive” and to make jazz music dangerous once more. to snatch the shirt and tie away from jazz and give it a black eye and a wedgie. we want to create music that is not just meant for the background or elevator, but jazz that makes the listener feel something visceral. we're succeeding in that mission. the straights a

nd squares fear us. they fear a jazz band. they are scared of what real freedom sounds and feels like. once you've had some, you need more! it is an honored to be feared by those who protect the status quo. we want to push buttons and boundaries.
