Tonight is a TNI POP-up Show with Improv Wars. Three teams battle for your laughs to see who wins the evening. All proceeds go to MadLab Theatre. Free parking. $8 at the door.

It is with some sadness that I am pulling the plug on Tuesday Night Improv. Frequently TNI has conflicted with the business of MadLab (rehearsals, tech, rentals, etc.) and it made it difficult to gain traction and develop a consistent schedule and audience. Also my schedule has gotten more complicated with my commitment to my school theater, the MadLab Board, and my work with the Delaware County Democratic Party. And as other folks who organize and book improv shows know, it takes a lot of coordination and work. (Booking 10 improvisers monthly for Deuces Wild was always a challenge ;-) And I didn't feel like I was giving it the attention that it needed.

I truly want to thank all the people who have played in shows and to the audiences that have come to see our work. I am particularly proud of Deuces Wild and the quality of the shows that so many people have made possible. I think, humbly, DW is one of the best improv shows in Columbus. And I am confident that DW will live on somewhere and sometime.

I always envisioned TNI as a place where people who might not have played together had a chance to see and play with new people and experience different styles and approaches to this art form that I love. I also wanted to raise money for MadLab. All ticket sales were either returned to MadLab or went to charity. I feel pretty good about that.

With that said, I will still be doing "Pop-Up" TNI shows if I discover something interesting, or if a group wants to do a charity event. Those I will still try to do but on a less frequent basis. Stay tuned.

For the month of January, TNI is taking a break due to conflicts with my schedule. I will send out the upcoming schedule of shows in the near future. Thanks.
