I could not have asked for a better Father’s Day. Time with my kids followed by time with our extended family…lots of outdoor play, tons of food, and perfect weather. God continues to show me how much I am truly blessed.

PSA: Wear your sunscreen this summer. This is the worst sunburn I’ve had in years. It’s still painful almost a week later. I had intended to just plant a couple of plants but really enjoyed my time in the garden last weekend and spent about two hours out there in the noon day sun. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize the effect on my skin until it was too late and I was foolish and not protecting my body. Please learn from my mistake and enjoy the sunshine this summer. PS: yes, I am wearing pants in the photos.

I had the privilege of checking out this show by Alex Paat on Friday evening. The show runs through the last week in June and I highly recommend it.

After an 11 hour day, and fighting through and ever-changing rain prediction, we were able to get all of the siding painted and a decent portion of the trim on this German Village restoration project. This was our first time using a boom lift on a project and the increase in efficiency was astounding. Plus, it was a lot of fun! Shout out to and for sticking out a long day and crushing this with me. And special thanks to for renting us the lift.

Awesome turnout for the Shepard community garden spring cookout. Neighbors coming together to share a meal and cultivate something for now and for the future. Great time everyone.

I did not grow up observing Lent, but I have come to value rhythm and season in new ways as I get older. For the next 40 days, I have decided to delete the social apps from my phone in order to be more intentional with my time. Will you join me?
