🌈 Pretty sure no one who was there will ever forget the double rainbow that happened at our first flea on April 9th of this year 🌈 We had only 15 vendors, the vendor fee was donation-only, I (S-J) set up as a vendor myself along with the others and was beyond nervous and completely in over my head. At about 5:55pm, ole weather man @stephmcryb (the community director of @400westrich ) ran through the vendor area to let us know a wind and rain storm would be blowing through for about 20 minutes and to BATTEN THE HATCHES. (Okay, she did not say that.) Anyway, I ran around telling all the vendors to prepare and assured them it would pass through and to hold tight. It came with a vengeance right at 6pm as the flea (and @franklintonfridays ) were scheduled to start. Inventory blew all over the place. We were soaked. Tents took off, clothing racks were on the ground, flea patrons helped vendors hold the tents, tables and racks down. It was nuts, and I just stood there in disbelief that this had to happen at my first event, but I also looked around at everyone and was overwhelmed by the sense of community and the way everyone helped each other. I think this is a good reminder for the end of the year, especially after some very challenging weather at our last event this month had me questioning whether I have what it takes to keep this going. The way people act during times of adversity says everything about who they are, and I want to make sure that I continue to strive for a friendly and positive atmosphere and that same sense of community and resilience we all experienced at that first flea back in April. As Friendship Flea grows, I promise I will do my best to stay true to that, and I will focus on supporting and uplifting the creatives and vendors who embody the community I set out to create in the beginning of 2021 🖤 Thank you to @jess.peer @stephmcryb @johnnyslowjam @400.square @400westrich @chromedgestudios @franklintonart and @franklintonfridays and E

January Oddities and Antiques Fun-Sized Friendship Flea

🖤 We are switching things up for the next three months with smaller, themed fleas at 400 West Rich 🖤 January's Fun-Sized Flea will feature: ◾ ODDITIES AND ANTIQUES ◾ We will have a small, unique and hand-selected group of vendors. We can't wait to see how you like this month's curation and gallery show feel. If you came to our The Cult of Curiosities event in October, it will have a similar vendor mix. As always, these monthly events coincide with Franklinton Fridays in the Franklinton Arts District and this particular flea coincides with the opening of the yearly AMAZING CAT SHOW at @400westrich There will also be open studios at both @400westrich and Chromedge Studios We'll be back to our regularly scheduled programming in April 2022, bigger and better than ever, for our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY FLEA. Applications for that one will open on February 16th. We will have more space for more vendors, which we are very excited about. ✖ Lineup and vendor features coming soon ✖
