Join us as at the Tyrrell County Library on October 19th from 3:30 – 4:30pm to make cordage from two pieces of equipment: the lucet and french knitting loom. In this class we’ll talk about how these simple tools came into being and how these sorts of cords have been used historically.

Ever seen animal tracks while out on a hike? We’ll be talking all about tracks and doing our best to recreate them at this event! Using linocutting materials, cardboard, and/or sponges, we’ll make some experimental prints to turn into cards or hang on your wall.

Join us on Friday, September 11th, from 6-8pm for Build a Bowl!
Come make bowls for a good cause. Each year, Food Bank of the Albemarle raises money to help fight hunger through the Empty Bowls event.

Ticket holders at their event receive a bowl to remind them of the cause so we’re working to make the bowls. Build A Bowl is in conjunction with this cause – each participant gets to make one bowl to keep and one bowl to donate to the cause. Your instructor will walk everyone through how to handbuild their bowls using slabs, but experienced potters are welcome to join in on the fun too! The more bowls, the merrier.

Participants will be able to pick up their finished bowl approximately 2-4 weeks after the class has ended.
