Pianist Rachel Aubuchon has the heart of a collaborator. From assisting choirs in her youth, playing numerous recitals of chamber music, being part of creative opera production, elevating new composers’ voices in performance, or simply spending hours in rehearsal, her passion for creating with others abides. Her love of vocal literature led her to participate in the CoOPERAtive program and serve as a staff accompanist for the national NATS conference. She also participated in the inaugural year for collaborative pianists at the NATS intern program under the mentorship of Warren Jones. An avid supporter of new music, Dr. AuBuchon participated in the International Composers Festival in Columbia, MO and served as a rehearsal pianist for the first UMKC Sounding Board event. Rachel has served on the faculty of Stephens College, Truman State University, and UMKC.

Jack Snelling is an American composer, pianist, and bassoonist, whose influences span many genres from Oscar Peterson and Lili Boulanger to Earth, Wind, and Fire and Ben Folds. His music is commonly characterized by emphasizing improvisation and encouraging creativity within interesting parameters. Jack is completing a BM in Composition, at MU where he has served as the pianist of Mizzou’s Concert Jazz Band and the principal bassoonist in the University Wind Ensemble. As a composer, his works have been performed and recorded by a variety of groups in both the classical and jazz scenes. Jack will be attending grad school at Eastman to pursue a Master’s degree in Jazz and Contemporary Media.

Zack Kierstead is a sought after collaborative pianist in mid-missouri. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Central Methodist University and a Master of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Missouri. He currently serves as a collaborative pianist at Columbia College and the University of Missouri. Recent engagements include playing for MU University Singers, Choral Union, and Show-Me Opera, and Central Methodist University’s production of Ordinary Days. Zachary is the current apprentice pianist for Landlocked Opera.

Kelly Slawson is turning heads with her shimmering prodigious sound - the voice of a true dramatic soprano. Named an encouragement award winner at the Wagner Society of NY competition and a semi- finalist in the Premiere Opera International Voice Competition in 2022, her return to opera is slated to be grandiose.
Prior to the pandemic, Ms Slawson appeared as Snow White
in Disenchanted with Stray Dog Theatre, Florencia in Florencia en al
Amazonas with Tulsa Opera, Elettra in Princeton Opera Alliance’s Idomeneo, and Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni with Lawrence Opera Theatre.

A versatile soprano, Christina Stout has been seen on opera, musical theater, and concert stages throughout the US. Her most recent roles include Connie Boylan in Annie, Cinderella’s Mother/Granny/The Giant in Into the Woods, and Papagena in The Magic Flute. Other roles have included La Contessa in Le Nozze di Figaro, Hanna Glawari in The Merry Widow, Blanche de la Force in Dialogue des Carmelites, Norina in Don Pasquale, Despina in Cosi fan tutte, Laurie in The Tender Land, and Adele in Die Fledermaus. In 2003, she was chosen to world premiere the role of Sacagawea in The Corps of Discovery, a musical account of the Lewis and Clark story.

Missouri-born tenor, Steven Tharp has gained worldwide recognition and acclaim as a singer of remarkable versatility in repertoire spanning many centuries and styles. Opera News has praised the "bel canto flexibility and sweetness" of his voice, while The New Yorker has described his voice as “strong, free, and forward in tone, verbally sure, lyrical in utterance.” Operatic credits include performances with the Metropolitan Opera, New York City Opera, Netherlands Opera, Badisches Staatsoper, Teatro Massimo, Netherlands Reisopera, Glimmerglass Opera, Opera Pacific, Minnesota Opera and the companies of Dallas, Houston, Seattle, Memphis, Omaha, Salt Lake City and Miami. Mr. Tharp is an Associate Professor of Voice at MU and the Voice Area Coordinator.

Last evening, it was my privilege to be in the event hostess outfit for The Missouri Symphony - MOSY.
(although, I may need to invest in some more fabulous event hostess uniforms….you know I love a pretty dress…)
Whatever the outcome, you are MY Small Business of the Year! Love working with you all and so looking forward to many, many more adventures and collaborations!

I wanted a little change in cut and needed color. Elizabeth worked with both with ease. The back is slightly layered and swings great. =) Color is just right. Elizabeth is an artist.
