I’ve been traveling for a few days now, and although I haven’t shared much about it, these little Hug Rocks have been traveling right alongside me!

From airports to hotels, beaches to swimming pools, and all the unexpected places in between… these little travelers have been finding new homes and making new friends. ❤️

Some I’ve handed directly to people. Others I’ve simply left behind, trusting that the right person would find them.

And oh, the smiles! 🥰

I’ve watched a complete stranger discover a Hug Rock and excitedly carry it over to someone he loved. I’ve handed one to a young lady who smiled and said, “Look! She has hair like me!”

Those are the moments. ❤️

The beautiful thing about Hug Rocks is that I never know where they’re going when I paint them. I don’t know whose hands will hold them, whose heart might need their message, or how far their little ripples will travel.

And I don’t need to know.

I just get to be part of the beginning.

Today, one little traveler is enjoying quite the view here in the Philippines! 🇵🇭🌊

Different countries. Different languages. Different lives. But kindness needs no translation.

Words matter. And the words you speak to yourself might matter most of all. ❤️

Think about it for a moment…

How often do we encourage others, remind them of their worth, celebrate their strengths, and offer them grace when they fall short?

Yet when it comes to ourselves, we can be our own harshest critics.

We speak words to ourselves that we would never dream of saying to someone we love.

What if we started changing that?

What if we spoke to ourselves with the same kindness, patience, and encouragement we so freely give to others?

Because the words we repeat become the stories we believe. And those stories shape how we see ourselves, how we live, and even how we treat the people around us.

Kindness creates ripples. But sometimes the very first person who needs to feel that kindness is YOU.

So today, pay attention to the words you speak. Not just to others, but to that beautiful human looking back at you in the mirror.

You deserve the same kindness you give away. ❤️

The first couple months of summer were busy. Between my cleaning business and working at the airport, there wasn’t much time to paint Hug Rocks.

My supply got pretty low, and for a while, I handed out very few.

Lately I’ve been painting again and have plenty of Hug Rocks ready to go back out into the world. But more importantly, I’ve been handing them out again.

And I’ve realized how much I missed that part.

The real part.

The conversations with strangers. The tears sometimes. The laughter. The stories people share when you slow down long enough to really see them.

Those encounters remind me why I started doing this in the first place.

Hug Rocks aren’t really about rocks.

They’re about people.

And these little rocks have taught me to look beyond a face, a mood, a reaction, or a first impression and remember that every person I meet is carrying something.

Hard things.
Beautiful things.
Sometimes both at once.

These encounters make me a better human.

I never want Hug Rocks to become something I simply make.

I want them to keep helping me see people.

Because maybe being truly seen is one of the greatest gifts we can give each other. ❤️

One of these rocks is not like the others. 😉

He’s just hanging out, waiting for someone to notice him.

Maybe he’ll be found today.
Maybe tomorrow.
Maybe he’ll travel across Montana… or across the country… or across the world.

That’s one of my favorite things about Hug Rocks, I never really know where they’re going.

I just know they’re meant to go. ❤️

I’ve been a little quiet lately… but I haven’t gone anywhere. ❤️

Summer is my busy season, so while I haven’t been posting much, Hug Rocks are still being painted, shared, and spreading kindness every single day.

There are times I sit down with a rock and have no plan…

and then there are times like this one,
where the rock already knows exactly what it wants to be.

This one?
Ski goggles. 🎿

And honestly… the message wrote itself.

Because isn’t life a lot like this?

Same mountain.
Same conditions.
Same moment.

But a completely different experience depending on the lens you’re looking through.

Sometimes we don’t need to change everything around us…
we just need a new view.

We spend so much time going back
replaying moments, rewriting conversations,
wishing we had known then what we know now.
But here’s what nobody tells you…
you couldn’t have known.
Not yet.
Some things can only be learned by living them.
The heartbreak. The wrong turn. The season that broke you open.
That wasn’t failure.
That was the lesson arriving exactly on time. 💛
So today, if you’re carrying something heavy from your past —
a decision, a relationship, a version of yourself you’re not proud of
what if you just… put it down?
Not because it didn’t matter.
But because you do.
You are not who you were.
You are who you became because of it.
And that person?
That person is worth forgiving. 💛
