I've been wanting to make more of these little dino-tokens for a while! Each one is molded with thermoplastic (so don't get them hot, lol) from an original I made from clay then cat in plaster, and each one is then hand-painted.

For the record I am fully against generative AI for a multitude of reasons, and will never support it, include it in products, nor utilize it in my creative process.

It is accelerating the environmental catastrophe that we are still not doing nearly enough to prevent. Every single little prompt is dumping a water bottle into the dirt for no growth.

It is ruining careers and taking up opportunities for artists and creatives, and being fed their work without consent or compensation to do so.

It will accelerate a financial collapse as it hurts entry level jobs from many industries, fully replacing some because even though it's work is poor and unreliable, it's just so cheap. So new people don't get trained in necessary skills and the supply of young talent is cut off. When the bubble collapses, it will be everyone but the people most responsible who suffer the consequences.

Using it literally makes us dumber, reliant on it to think clearly, breaks down our ability to operate without it, builds egomania, and it has been giving people brand new forms of psychosis and emotional damage we are only just beginning to understand.

Like.... I get it... it's a powerful tool, and I see the appeal of being able to just brainstorm and get immediate visual feedback without having to pay money. It makes certain things accessible to people for whom it is otherwise not, and makes business models theoretically easier... but we are deeply behind on absolutely needed regulation for this market, and the way it is been implemented is immoral, destructive, personally harmful to multitudes, short-sighted, and just toxic as hell for our culture, economy, and the world we all need to live in.

And besides all that... you have to understand how AI works. It gets better and better the more feedback data it gets. It's not a tool for us. We are being used to feed it data and content on a massive scale. The AI tech folks are using us. We are the product, and we will not be the beneficiary of the results. That is why abstinence from AI is the only fair path.

So yeah, if meta sends you any notifications about me using AI, they are full of s**t. And if you see such notifications about others, double check before canceling them. Meta desperately wants to make it look more popular.
