Thank you Scott Blazek for sharing your knowledge of coin design to our guild--and your design for the 1993 $5 gold coin honoring James Madison and the Bill of Rights....and....for giving us tools to create our own coin. Be sure to bring your designs August 4, 6pm at Clovis-Carver Public Library. All media and all levels of creativity welcomed.

To help mark our nation's 250th anniversary in the month of July 2026, Scott Blazek is offering to the Venturers in Art at the Clovis Carver Library (Tues. July 7, 6:00 p.m.) a presentation that includes a brief review of the ancient bas relief art form of coinage, his personal experience designing the 1993 U. S. Madison / Bill of Rights $5.00 gold commemorative coin along with a personal hands-on activity around the theme, "How to Design a U.S. Commemorative Coin." We encourage participants, if handy, to bring a 12" ruler, a no. 2 pencil and a simple school compass with which to draw circles. Otherwise we can share. Some surprises will be included in the evening.

Clyde Davis will be demonstrating a wood-carving project at the Curry County High Plains Pioneer Museum located at the Curry County Fairgrounds, 1909 E. Brady Ave. on Saturday, May 2 from 10 am to 2 pm. Stop in to see Clyde's work and the museum displays.
