Hi! I’m Carolyn! I started Art Bar for three major reasons:

1. To build a community of creators.
Creativity brings people from all walks of life together to experience the incredible ability to make something beautiful with their own two hands. In short - it’s empowering. I absolutely love helping people tap into that feeling.

2. To feed my soul.
I’m a teacher by profession and a helper by nature. Art Bar is my way of using my gifts outside the classroom to bring joy to others (and myself)!

3. To support my boys.
I’m a single mom of two incredible young men - one is a collegiate student-athlete and the other is a budding entrepreneur. They are everything a mother could hope for! Yet no one prepares you for this phase of motherhood. Your "grown" kids still rely on you for financial support, even when divorce agreements end when they turn 18. And as they grow into adults, your quality time with them diminishes. Your purpose feels harder to pinpoint, and a teacher's salary doesn't stretch as far without child support. Art Bar is my passion-fueled "side hustle" to help them realize their dreams while seeking community to fill my now-expanding free time.
