choreographed show choir ensemble known throughout the state as The Macombers,
the Goodwill Ambassadors of Macomb Community College. Founded in 1970, The Macombers
have grown in emphasis and stature. They are Michigan's oldest college show choir, and
althou
gh constantly changing their musical selections and personnel, continue to receive
rave reviews. The group performs dozens of shows a year throughout the Detroit area
and beyond. All members are full-time scholarship students at Macomb Community College. They have appeared with professional performers such as The Chieftains, Neil Sedaka,
Judy Collins, Marvin Hamlisch and Tom Jones. The Macombers have performed for everyone
from American Presidents and major corporations to local school children.
