On May 16 at 4 PM, the Silk Road Cultural Collective took the Jack Stage at the 17th annual Cleveland Asian Festival with a breathtaking heritage performance that drew a massive crowd! Alongside 14 other heritage groups, we delivered 15 authentic cultural performances celebrating Asian history, Tang & Ming dynasty traditions, and historical armor—all lovingly received by an enthusiastic packed audience. Silk Road Cultural Collective is looking for passionate volunteer heritage performers to join our team!

We celebrate the rich cultures of the Silk Road and beyond—from Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Mongolian to Indian, Persian, and Roman/European traditions. Anyone is welcome to represent and be part of any of these cultural groups—no specific background required, and you do not have to be Asian to participate.

Our work focuses on respectful cultural representation, historical education, and authentic storytelling. We welcome both men and women who are interested in bringing history to life through cultural performance and community events. Volunteers will be asked to invest in a basic historically inspired outfit (5th–18th century), such as hanfu or other culturally appropriate attire.

Yesterday, May 7th, we were invited to do a small talk at Solon Library about Chinese Heritage and the history, from Han to Tang to Ming Dynasties and then we talked about the history of Chinese Americans in Cleveland as well as the Cleveland Asian Festival that is happening next weekend. We thank Solon Library for having us and everyone had a great time.
