Welcome to 2026. It’s a whole new year--we’ve turned the page, started fresh, looking to the future, but we still haven’t added Freebird to our play list.
Thanksgiving is generally the day in this country when we give thanks for our many blessings, and Christmas is a time of joy, and the New Year is a rebirth...with a promise to do better. In music it’s all the above all the time. Music is transformative and healing and energizing. It is also reflective, sentimental and nostalgic. It looks ahead and back, in the present, all at the same time.
2025 had its challenges for many of us, and it had its celebrations, personally and collectively. Music was the one constant. It gave solace and hope, sadness and cheer. We were so very fortunate, those of us of a particular age demographic--the one that rhymes with bloomer and groomer and zoomer--to have witnessed and enjoyed first hand one of the greatest music eras of all time. Take Me Back pays tribute to a part of that time with horn rock classics, stirring memories, keeping the spirit alive, and perhaps passing some of it on to generations that follow.
We are looking to add some new tunes in 2026 and bring back some old favorites, while staying true to our prom date. We are still filling our calendar, but we have return engagements scheduled for Collision Bend, Wagners, Sarah’s Vineyard, Soundstage and Bedford Ribfest, among others. Keep an eye out here and on our webpage (https://www.takemeback.band/) for times and locations and updates.
We hope you come out and celebrate with us this year.
