All are invited to the free admission Artists at the Twist Open Studios Event with free parking May 5, 2024, from noon until 5 p.m. at the Cleveland Twist Drill Building.
Twenty-five artists, 17 with the Artists at the Twist collective, and 8 artists, also located on the 5th floor of the Cleveland Twist Drill Building, will open their studios to show, discuss, and sell artworks in medias of painting, printmaking, ceramics, fiber textiles, jewelry, soaps and candles, photography, sculpture, jewelry, and mixed media.
Two available entrances: 1242 E. 49th Street, Cleveland 44114; and handicap accessible at 4700 Lakeside Ave., Cleveland 44114. Two free parking lots on Lakeside Ave. and free street parking on E. 49th St. are available.

The Cleveland Botanical Gardens were so fun last Saturday in spite of the pouring rain. Wonderful treasures like Mike Greenwald's oil paintings, hatching butterflies, strawberry poisonous frog sanctuaries, and delicate bird practically-lace nests were discovered and thoroughly enjoyed!

Are you enjoying Memorial Day? It's a beautiful day and to me it's a gift day to catch up on personal items. This is a triptych acrylic painting started in 2007 when I first got a studio in the ArtCraft Building. The left canvas looks inside (genetics, cancer, biology) and the right canvas looks outwards (space, planets, moons, star births, galaxies, universe). I struggled conceptually with the middle canvas which was intended to be about the present and who I am. After 16 years, I think I figured it out and here it is all finished. Please tell me how you receive the center canvas of rocks and what they represent to you. I'll share with you my thoughts in a later post. Fyi, this photo is untouched, as are all photos of my art. Janet Luken, one of the resident artists of Artists at the Twist, is being showcased at Akron Woman's City Club, February 1 through March 31, 2023. She has 18 paintings in the show. Going Nowhere, the painting seen here is large, 30" x 40", in acrylic, and highlights the impact of Alzheimer's on people and their caregivers. All are welcome to view the show.
