Been a hot minute. I've been working on a very involved puzzle piece for the past few months which I will post soon. Needed a simple project to scratch the creative itch, so I made one of my bowling ball bugs. This one is a gift for a fellow artist friend.

Art hung at KK Hairworks. Such a cool space. Honored to be on the violet walls. More to come.

Sold the last Box of Chocolates, so I made another (larger) one. This is Royales. 11" x 16". Wood, stain, acrylic, glass, metal, oil/beeswax. I used red oak for the frame and a darker stain than the previous one. It's fancy.

Newest assemblage - A Box of Chocolates (w nuts). 11" square. Wood, stain, acrylic, stone, metal, glass, oil/beeswax. It's a simple, somewhat elegant piece. Designed to be a wall hanging or a table piece (felt pads on the bottom).

I had initially planned to use paper cups, but they were limiting - obscuring too much of the texture/interest of the individual pieces. The wood rounds (implying a paper cup) are much better. Inspired by Gold Cup box.

New assemblage piece called Diversions. 12" square. Mixed media. I wanted to make something more whimsical that incorporates some of my favorite games - cribbage (and other card games in general), D&D, marbles, and the endless hours I spent as a kid making extravagant dioramas with green army men. This hand gr***de guy was one I found digging in the dirt years ago. The pencil is a nod to old school pencil and paper D&D - the best way to play. Oh, the dice box is a nod to Farkle.
