Caricature art by Dan McMahan

I've been hard at work but not taking a lot of photos. Here are two from the East Texas State Fair. We dealt with a lot of rain but we got it done

Finished with the North Texas Fair and Rodeo. The first one is my friend Jared and his wife Kelsie who run the pig races. I didn't get a photo of them to go with it. I've know Jared for about 30 years now and it was great to finally work a fair with him.
In other news, I think it's safe to say that I am a pan pastel artist or a Dan pastel artist if you will. This was the first fair I've used them at fully. I really feel like the ten days gave me a chance to get comfortable with them.

It's the dog days of summer. Turns out yesterday was national dog day and my booth neighbor brought her pitbull to the fair. This guy didn't get one, but two caricatures to celebrate.
