Marie has played the violin since she was five years old. She earned the 1st chair violinist for the Tampa Bay Symphony in her 60’s and played with them for 25 years. Marie can't play the violin anymore but she loved going to symphony performances. However with her eyesight and hearing limitations, she has not been able enjoy it for quite some time.
In order to help Marie enjoy a symphony performance, the staff at Elmcroft of Pinecrest reached out to the Tampa Bay Symphony Orchestra. So many of them remembered Marie and volunteered to come and perform for her.
Thank you to these wonderful musicians who have not forgotten Marie and continue to hold her in such high regard. And thank you to the staff of Elmcroft Senior Living for making Marie's dream come true!

For more than 20 years, The Palladium Theater at St. Petersburg College has stayed focused on its mission to be the affordable, professional performing arts venue for West Central Florida. Both Hough Hall, our mainstage, and our intimate Side Door Cabaret have earned “Best of the Bay” recognition for many years.
Arts organizations, such as St. Petersburg Opera Company, The Florida Orchestra, The Master Chorale of Tampa Bay, the Pinellas Youth Symphony, Tampa Bay Symphony, the Academy of Ballet Arts, and dozens of others consider the Palladium their performance home.
The theater is also the home of jazz, blues, chamber music, dance, stand-up comedy and so many other genres of music. Local entertainment magazine Creative Loafing honored the Palladium as the top spot for jazz in the Tampa Bay region.
As part of our mission, the theater has built strong relationships with the professional performers and artists in our area. This year we will expand that support with a new Palladium Resident Artist program that provides direct funding to local artists to create new work which will later debut at the Palladium.
While we aren’t able to welcome audience and performers into the theater during this shutdown, I hope you will continue to support our mission by making a tax-deductible donation to the Friends of the Palladium Fund. Follow this link to make a donation.
