Creative Connections and Well-being

Creative Connections and Well-being We bridge the gap between mental health support and creative expression with arts-based sessions in a stigma-free space.

Through workshops, groups, and partnerships, we foster self-exploration, stress relief, and community connection. I am Christine Atkinson ATR-BC, LCAT, a board certified creative arts therapist and educator passionate about helping individuals reconnect with themselves through creative expression. I hold a master’s degree in Creative Arts Therapy and a bachelor’s degree in Art Education and am cu

rrently pursuing a PhD in Expressive Therapies at Lesley University. I believe that everyone has the potential to enhance their well-being, find fulfillment, and cultivate happiness in their daily lives. I integrate creative tools with a supportive and non-judgmental approach, understanding that words aren’t always enough. Creative expression offers a powerful, non-threatening way to process emotions, and no artistic skills are required—just a willingness to explore and engage. I take a collaborative approach, helping clients strengthen their foundation, reconnect with themselves, and rediscover their identity. I am dedicated to providing an authentic, creative space that fosters growth, self-expression, and self-actualization. My experience includes working with individuals navigating life transitions, professional identity challenges, anxiety, stress, intrapersonal conflict, and art therapy supervision.

It was a great morning at Good Morning Clayton with the Clayton Chamber of Commerce! I always enjoy connecting with fellow business owners, community leaders, and catching up with my Launch JoCo alumni Oak City Spice Blends, Kita’s Kitchen, and The Retreat on Horne Street / Clayton Massage.

I was also excited to share a few creative wellness experiences that are on the horizon!
Slow Sunday Studio is coming to The Old Mill Group Real Estate — a monthly creative wellness experience for adults to slow down, reflect, and reconnect through guided expressive arts. Registration and details coming soon!

I'll also be facilitating a collaborative community art project during The Retreat on Horne Street / Clayton Massage's 10-Year Anniversary Celebration. Everyone will be invited to contribute to a shared piece of artwork that celebrates community, creativity, and connection.
Stay tuned—more details are coming soon, and I can't wait to create with you!

Reflecting on this past weekend's Defining Supervision continuing education workshop for art therapists. I am grateful for the opportunity to explore the importance of values, structure and defining what effective supervision looks like for her person. The discussions focused on that great supervision is not just about accountability, it is a foundation for professional growth, support, and professional identity development.

Thank you to everyone who participated and made the conversations so meaningful!

If you are interested in upcoming CE workshops, check out the link in my bio. If you are interested in bringing a workshop on defining clinical supervision to your team or organization, send me a message I would love to connect!

Tiny Moments of Wonder - Sometimes the smallest creative moments can help us slow down, breathe, and reconnect with ourselves.
We don't have to create something perfect. We simply need to create.
If this little piece gave you a moment to pause, I'd love to stay connected. In my newsletter, I share artwork, creative wellness practices, reflections on creativity and well-being, and invitations to workshops and art therapy services.
Where creativity meets well-being.
Let's connect, create, and grow together.
