The brake time on these Reloops doesn't work like you would think. They always stop at the same speed, the k**b just controls how long it waits before it does 🤣

And when it does, it's a little too quick.

They are beastly if you crank up the torque, but I keep it all the way down so it's closer to that of Technics. All the way down is still harder than the Tech. But maybe it'll be a little easier to adapt to if I keep it down.

I wanted my new setup to be as basic as possible, as close as possible to what was available when I was a teenager (in the '80s). All this stuff, though, is nicer than I expected.

For instance, the Innofader in this Numark is superb. My cuts weren't this crisp since the line switch on the Gemini. Remember when the Fresh Prince said "he doesn't use a line switch as a transform crutch?" Well I damn sure did 🤣 but I don't need to now though, this is nice. Makes me realize how horrible the faders were on those controllers.

It's hilarious to me how the "modern" "Up to date" sound is a drum machine that flopped in the '80s, and the keyboard sounds we considered corny in the'90s.

Seriously, if you had a s**tty keyboard in the '90s, not good enough to have good sounds, that's what they love now, lmao. And the 808 flopped because it was too expensive considering the fact it sounded nothing like real drums. It didn't catch on until it was out of production and $50 in pawn shops. For $50, it was worth it.

I know because I had them and played them. We had LoFi too, we called it "my equipment sucks." LMAO

And don't get me started on modern mixing. They literally clip fidelity off the waveform (and sound quality), for perceived loudness on S**T devices. Then, they say classic mixes are "lifeless," because if it don't sound like s**t, they can't feel it. They distort s**t on purpose, and again literally chop data off the sound for perceived loudness. Limiting was foul enough, and sounded horrible, but loud. Clipping took that s**t to the next horrible level.

They don't even know what dynamics means (changes in volume like actual music played by humans), and their wave forms look like a tube. Get mad if you want to, every word of this is fact and I have receipts.
